    Another Keezer Build

I say go for it. You'll learn a lot in the process. Just remember always practice on a scrap piece before trying the real deal. Especially true when working with the dowel rig. Fortunately you'll have to build the framing first which can have some imperfection since it will be hidden in the...

    Another Keezer Build

The plywood panels were attached to the oak borders by routing the inside edge of the oak borders the same thickness of the plywood. I then glued the panels in from behind. I used dowel joints to connect all of the larger pieces together. You can buy an inexpensive dowel joint maker from...

Winter Seasonal Beer Harpoon Winter Warmer Clone

I taste more of a nutmeg flavor in the pre-ground. Reason being (I think) is that when I ground it the grinds were crumb sized. Pre-ground is much finer, I'm guessing which disperses the flavor more. Either way it came out great. I'd say go with whichever you have on hand.

Winter Seasonal Beer Harpoon Winter Warmer Clone

First time I used McCormick ground cinnamon and freshly ground nutmeg. This time around I just used McCormick ground cinnamon and already ground nutmeg. I'd be wary of adding whole cinnamon sticks in. I'd be afraid that it would become too spiced. Remember a lot goes a long way; .5tsp...

Winter Seasonal Beer Harpoon Winter Warmer Clone

This one does take a little longer to mellow out. The floaties are the cinnamon and nutmeg, they don't dissolve, just sort of sit there on the top. However their flavors do disperse throughout the beer. Give it some time and let me know how it turns out. The bitterness is probably from the...

    making a Lime Brew.

Watch out for "beer dermatitis" when working with limes and sun. Search it on google. Happened to someone I know, it's not serious but can stain your skin for a few months. Just an FYI.

GE 7 CF (FCM7SUWW) keezer conversion

I did pretty much what you're describing. It's a tight fit, but it is possible. Check out page 2 on the link i just posted to see 4 kegs and a 5lb CO2 tank fitting in a 7.0CF freezer. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/another-keezer-build-209288/

    Perma-Haze?

I agree with DeafSmith. Usually it takes my beers around 3 weeks for the chill haze to dissipate.

    Kegging Temps

I think what you're afraid of is skunking your beer. That occurs when sunlight (UV) begins breakign down hop molecules giving that skunk taste. Your beer will be fine if removed from the kegerator. I'd just recomend not allowing it to get too hot. Probably keep it in a closet or basement.

GE 7 CF (FCM7SUWW) keezer conversion

How about pushing the collar back slightly so that it sits flush on the closed hinge? IF that makes the front not flush - and unacceptable in your opinion then I'd just add some washers as a spacer between the collar and hinge. Or, just screw it on and see if the small angle affects...

    Harpoon BPA Clone Help

Still have some on tap, the stuff is great. Never got around to doing a direct comparison with the harpoon stuff. But i'd wager it's pretty similar. This beer is worth making - it can hold its own.

    Stainless Shank Flange

Hey all, question for those of you using a stainless steel shank flange as seen here: http://www.kegworks.com/stainless-steel-flange-for-shank-773-p20694 When tightening the shank does the flange compress? Compared to the standard plastic flange, what is the uncompressed height of the...

    Another Keezer Build

I'm not sure I fully understand your question, but here goes: The reason I built a frame that surrounded the freezer, rather than attach the plywood covering directly to the freezer has to do with how freezers work. Freezers exchange heat through their 'skin'. If you directly apply anything...

Winter Seasonal Beer Harpoon Winter Warmer Clone

The recipe below will get you a 6% abv. But I'm not sure how it will taste. Really I just took away the Malt Extracts and increased the 2-row. Not sure how that will compare with the original. I don't have any experience with all grain, so check other recipes to see typical grain bills. I...
