    Anybody harvesting hops yet?

    I have tried Hallertau now for 3 years , every year it doesnt start to grow until after the summer equinox, here it is mid august and the bines are 16 inches long and I am harvesting cascade, nugget , golding now. What the heck, I'm jelly!

    Solara for Beer

    so do you guys think that a normal sacc beer would not benefit from extended ageing? I just thought that a solera with different brews going in every so often would be a cool project as it is always changing the mix. I could be all f@#^ UP in this idea though. thanks for the input.

    Good Saison Recommendations?

    I love Orval(?) Saison from a partnership with sierra nevada, had on tap at sierra nevada and also in bottle, both awesome. Have one in the fermenter now ready to bottle, hope it is 1/2 as good.

    BG-12 users - burner height and heat shields

    I built a 2 tier stand with these same burners but with low pressure orifices, I mounted them 4 inches below the frame that the keggle sits on with 11''dia. stainless wind shields and it seems to be a great highth, high pressure may cause a taller flame but not by much.
