    Logo Thread

Designed my brother-in-law a logo for his home-brewery for xmas. He's been brewing under the name Duff Dog Brewing Company for several years, which is named after his dog, which of course is named after Duff Beer from the Simpsons...

Hey folks, it's shameless plug time. Full disclosure: A Day of the Dead shirt I designed is up for voting on Threadless and I could really use some votes. I've got a big move planned soon and need the $$$. If you have Threadless account (or don't mind signing up for one) please click here...

    Portland bound...

Yeah, I have absolutely no intention whatsoever of moving unless my wife or I have a job secured first. We're not going to pick up and move across the country without something worked out. I'm going to start hammering places with resumes and portfolios early next year, and I have the slight...

    Portland bound...

Hey folks, my wife and I are bored with NC and we're looking to try another state for a while. #1 on our list is Portland, Or. We both have a few friends there, and we've heard nothing but awesome stuff about the place, especially the beer culture. Anybody got any ideas or suggestions...

    Your favorite kits?!?!?!

Midwest's Irish Stout is good. Neither of the True Brew kit's I've tried turned out very well, but part of that is surely attributed to me being a n00b.

Let's hear your "crazy stout" ideas!

I've been thinking about trying a chocolate persimmon stout. Persimmon pudding is one of my favorite southern foods.

    What are you drinking now?

A Bad Penny brown ale by Raleigh's own Big Boss Brewing. One of my current favorites. More chocolaty than your average brown.

    Savannah recommendations?

Back from Savannah. The Distillery was fantastic. Hung out there at some point about every day that I was there. The GM, Ben, is a really cool guy and shared a few mystery beers he had taking up space in the cellar w/ my wife and I. If I were to ever move to the area (which is a possibility...

How to dry bottles without a bottle rack?

I do a regular cycle in the dishwasher (upside down, bottom rack) with a tiny bit of detergent to make sure there's no crud left in/on them, and then immediately follow it with a heavy wash cycle with no detergent and with the heat dry cycle turned on.

    Savannah recommendations?

Thanks! I haven't been there since before I was even old enough to drink in a bar, so it should be a fun trip. I'm long overdue for a vacation (but aren't we all).

    Bacon Vodka

A friend of a friend in Durham makes flavored spirits and I tried some of his bacon vodka a couple weeks ago. By itself it was atrocious, but it made the most amazing bloody mary I've ever had.
