Worst bar experience ever! (Greenville, SC)

Bartender: No man, it's just that every time you come here you have something to say and something to complain about! I don't understand why you keep coming back. This is the best place to drink in Greenville! AND Bartender: You always have something to complain about, If you don't like it...

    Bottling Tips for the Homebrewer

One week is enough if you are desperate to drink.... 2 weeks is better .... 4 is ideal. The chilling is to make the bottles settle down. All beer is more stable if it has been in the fridge for an extended period ... I find this is super important for HB. 24 hours should be enough, a few...

Brewing day came and I had to make a call. So I have used the Brigalow larger that came with my first kit. I never intended to use it anyway so if it turns out crap I have only wasted my time. I have added 150grams of Coopers Brewing sugar and set it up as per a normal brew (23 litres of...

using cling wrap instead of an air lock

Thankyou for your feedback everyone. Given your comments I will use cling wrap, but I don't intend to put any holes in it. I think that will risk infection. I have been using my lid. Unfortunately, the kit fell out of the brewing fridge last batch and landed on the air lock. This...

    super low alcohol beer

My kids love to help me bottling. Unfortunately, they also love the taste of beer. Has anyone brewed any super low alcohol beer?? . I was planning to initiate the yeast in a sugar/water mix, add this to the tin of goo and 23 litres of water, and then immediately bottle as per a normal brew...

using cling wrap instead of an air lock

I remember reading somewhere that some people don't use the lid of their brewing container. They remove the lid and put cling wrap (glad wrap) over the container and hold it in place with the seal from under the lid. Has anyone done this? Any tips or suggestions?

    Bottling Tips for the Homebrewer

After reading the first 8 pages of this thread, I have now added a flexible tube between my dip tube and the tap, as shown in newbeerpig's pics on page 7. The kids always help me bottle but with this set up they can just about do it all by themsleves!!!
