    Prime Dose Review

Sorry for the slow reply I have a 2 year old haha I used them in a Firestone DBA clone. The beer actually has good carbonation now and I just strain the caps out when I pour it. This adds to a nice creamy head when I pour through a strainer. It carbonated in a couple of weeks.

    Prime Dose Review

I used these in about 12 bottles and have had 3 so far. The product has a gel cap and it is still floating around in my beer and not dissolving after over a week in the bottle. Also, I believe the yeast has imparted a strange flavor to my beer. I give this product a D+ and will...

Attenuation question, and help finish my stout.

I was going to say that re-pitching some yeast will let you know if it is done, but it looks like you already did that. As a note: I have an Imperial Stout that stopped at 1.020 and I was thinking it was done, but was told by an award winning home brewer that if I thought it was too sweet...

    First oatmeal stout comments

London ale III 1318 Quick update I found out that this could be the Boddington strain and let me tell you the stout is super creamy. Almost has a milk stout body/feel. Its also a super top cropper as I used a modified Burton Union to collect some yeast from the blow off. I might want to bump up...

Help - I'm making bad mead!

I did an experiment to see what light and oxygen do to a Meade. I usually make extra must to top up the secondary. I just let that sit out and let the vodka in the airlock dry out, tons of head space and left it out in the light. The result was my base for bad oxidized mead. Unfortunately, I...

    Brewer's Best Kits

I just brewed a Scottish ale and it tastes like water. It came with both LME and DME? I might have not steeped the grains enough, but I would say I have had better luck with other kits.

    Watermelon Wine

I had a strange white film on my Watermelon Wine. Think juice may have spoiled. Bad smell. I will try and get picks up later. Anyways, I racked 5 gallons down to three and added campden and potassium sorbate to kill anything bad. That was 2 years ago. The smell is gone. I will have my bro taste...
