Connecting Anvil Foundry to Dryer Outlet

I have an Anvil Foundry which I was using at 240v at my previous residence. I have recently moved to a new apartment. The stove is gas so I can't use that. From what I can tell the only outlet > 120v is the dryer outlet. It uses this cord, 4" 30 AMP 3 Wire Dryer Cord|^|WX9X2. I bought this...

    Cooling in Apartment Homebrewing

I recently moved to a new apartment. Previously I would remove the aerator from the faucet and connect a male quick disconnect. I would connect the immersion chiller to this to cool and also fill my brewing vessel. The faucet is much nicer, but does not have the regular aerator to replace...

    Welding a brew stand

I am planning on welding a brew stand sometime soon. It will be used to brew 5 gallon batches. I’m currently using 3 converted keggles. Is 2 inch square 14 gauge steel sufficient for this? It’s possible I will do some 10 gallon batches. I may also purchase 20-25 gallon pots.

Trouble Bottle Conditioning High ABV Beer

I bottled a Belgian Dark Strong 4 weeks ago, that is still showing no signs of carbonation. The yeast I used to ferment was WLP530 Abbey Ale Yeast. I also added a vial of WLP530 along with corn sugar to the bottling bucket. The amount of corn sugar I added was enough to carbonate around 2.3...

    Table for Motorized Grain Mill

I bought a 2'x3' stainless steel table to use to mount my motor and grain mill. It has a support underneath the center of the table. This is where I am planning on mounting the motor and mill. Would removing a six inch section of the support be a bad idea? I would need to remove it for the...

    Cavitation when pumping boiling liquid

Whenever I try to pump water or wort when it is boiling there is cavitation. I have tried pumping the liquid well before it reaches boiling, but as soon as it is boiling the problem starts. I have tried reducing the flow after the pump but this hasn't helped. Is there any way to prevent this?

    First Sake

I just made my first sake using the directions and ingredients from www.homebrewsake.com. It turned out good, but it does have a slight yeasty/moldy/funky taste. Is this normal? If it is not normal, what can I do to help prevent this in my next sake?

    Leaking plate chiller

I started using a plate chiller for my last 2 batches. The chiller has been leaking from the water in connection. I used plumbing tape on the threads, but this didn't help. I have been turning the water on all the way. Should I be reducing the flow of water going in, or is the chiller defective?
