    Non-Alcoholic Beer Poll

There is an increasing number of people who are reducing or giving up alcohol totally. My wife is among them. Personally I prefer a regular brew. I have tasted several NA beers (mostly German), and found most of them either too sweet or too watery, There are a few out there that do come close...

    Durian Wit???

Great to read the results! I haven't done the durian try-out yet, but for sure will be doing it with my next batch (still durian available here :D) I'm planning on making a stout next, and will throw in some durian. See how I can tweak it, and how it works out. Thanks for the suggestion to use...

    Durian Wit???

How did you fare with the durian beer? I've been thinking of doing that for some time, too. Here in Malaysia right now it's durian time. A friend just gave me five of those fruits about half an hour ago. We ate three, and left two unopened. Then I read your message while checking the forum on...

Fermenting Coopers Irish stout at 34c

@schia, I have just bottled a draught, doing a Canadian Style beer now, with added gula kelapa I bought from a shop in Puchong Permai. Fermenting's well on the way! Perhaps we can do a brew together one day!:D

Fermenting Coopers Irish stout at 34c

The challenges are definitely there, but worth overcoming! :rockin: The fun for me is partly to find anything local, even if not intended for brewing beer, and use it to get a good brew. Didn't use Irish Moss, for instance, as I thought it's not available (except from Singapore brewer shop), but...

    Alternative to Coopers

@orleans, Shia and myself, we're based in Malysia. Joppo is right, shipping to Malaysia may be a bit expensive. Thing is, the website I referred Shia to is from a Singapore (neighboring country) brewing shop. There are two shops over there, and the one I guess he's buying from supplies...

    Alternative to Coopers

Have you tried Muntons or Morgans beer kits from HomeBrew Store

Fermenting Coopers Irish stout at 34c

Don't worry about it too much. I let my brews ferment at those temperatures. Not ideal, but in our situation, that is the Malaysian way (Malaysia boleh :rockin:), it is definitely not a problem. Some yeasts, though, produce off flavours, but unless you understand what off-flavors are, you won't...

Brew in a bag for all grain brew - PLEASE HELP ME!

By the time of my reply you must have finished drinking your February 2011 brew. If you're still in Puchong, go and check out Daiso in IOI Mall. They sell bags for RM5 a piece that you can use nicely to steep your grains. Also, in Puchong Perdana, there's a shop called Tembikar Menang Jaya where...

From Malaysia - Can I get a lower FG?

@BOBrob, Yep, tried the swamp cooler treatment, but the patient didn't like it. Kept dragging ice cubs to the pond. Have been thinking about making a closed cooler box from extruded polystyrene to fit my fermenter in. I actually have a second fridge converted into a fermenter. Problem this time...

From Malaysia - Can I get a lower FG?

@BigB, Yes, attenuation bit on the low side, just within the margins. Checked back the kit I made it from,........,:cross: passed best before date. Well, that's what you get when you import your kits, and forget about them!:D Decided to wait a bit more, and then bottle it (no kegging...

From Malaysia - Can I get a lower FG?

Hi, have been on HomeBrewTalk for a short while now, but don't think I've introduced myself. How rude! I'm a starting all-grain brewer, but since I'm based in Malaysia I have no access to most of the needed ingredients. So I'm trying out with kits. I did a 22 liters brew with the Cooper's...
