I have a PID running a SSR that controls my heating element in my RIMS tube. It is a 25 amp relay and the element is 1500 watt (12.5 amp). I have been using this system for about two years and the relay always ran quiet..the last brew session it started a humming noise when the element is on...
Was wondering if anyone else had this problem:
I have to spin the third roller in the direction of the smaller gap or 90% of the time it just comes out the back side (larger gap). Therefore, not properly crushing my grain. Or do I have somethimg set up wrong? Just wondering.
Well I had my first stuck mash after brewing 12 batches...what a PITFA!!!!
Any who.... I tried brewing Jamil Zainasheff's Stout recipe. The recipe called for 20% flaked barley...which I was a little leary about. To add injury to insult I flipped a coin and added another huskless grain...
Since my first sip of DFH's 60 min IPA, I was in the search for somthing to continually hop my beer. I'v read numerous threads on this issue but nothing really stuck out to me. (no offense to anyone) So i decided to collaborate with a fellow brewer on the matter. This is what we came up...
I brewed my first IPA not long ago. Everyting was fine with it until after about a month in the keg. The IPA had a nice orangish hue to it but then turned to a brownish rotten banna color. The beer still tastes like it did when younger, but the color is nasty. Was wondering if IPA's needed...
In the market for a grain mill and was wondering what to look for.
2 roller vs 3 roller - pros/cons
1.5" roller vs 2" roller - pros/cons
For example Monster Mill wants 350.00 for the 3m-2.0 w/SS upgrade. Is it really worth it?
I was wondering if I can mount my SSR in my enclosure with the heatsink protruding outward. Also, will the SSR cause interference with any of my temp controllers. 2-ranco's and 1-PID.
I was wondering if anyone knew why Auber Ins wiring schematic for a SSR shows the load coming into one side of the heating element and exiting the otherside of the heating element terminating at the SSR. Then the nuetral is hooked up to the opposite side of the SSR. To me this looks like they...
Hello, I was wondering if anyone uses a false bottom in their boil kettle to filter out the hops and hot/cold break? Also, is a sight gauge in the boil kettle worth the money and possible mess from boil over...
I was wondering if it possible to wire the ranco etc with an on-off-on switch.
my goal is to power the controller as well as bypass the controller and feed power to my selenoid valve. This would make my valve auto or manual. Is it ok to send power to the load output on the relay of the...
I was wondering if anyone had a good source for terminal blocks to distribute
the neutral, ground, and hot wires to all of my temp controls, pump, solenoid valves, and rims.
Thanks, Martin
when speaking about 1.5" and 1" tri fittings, the flanges are the same but are the gasket recesses the same? Little confused on the interchangeability of these fittings.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me the best way to plumb my brew system. My system is base on the sabco Brew Magic. The kegs have 1/2 mnpt couplers welded to them. I am using one March 809 pump. Was wondering about the following:
Rigid SS tubing VS. Silicon
Valve placement
Tri...
Just ordered my pid ( SYL-4352) and SSR (25A). I am using 120v to run a 1500w ULD element for my rims. The diagram for the PID shows using a DPST switch @ the power input. I was wondering if this was absolute or if i could use a SPST switch instead. Also are any fuses needed in the system...
