    My Job Smells Good-Sometimes

I had to service some equipment at a local farm that is currently harvesting/drying approx 500 acres of hops. The smell of fresh hop flowers was amazing, it was still on my work boots when I came home. This is much better than when I have to service equipment at one of the local dairy's! LOL. I...

This is what I got for about $40 incl shipping

Looks really nice, how many feet is it? Tell us some specs after using it. My first IC got me so excited that I boiled 5 gallons of water that night just to test it out. I'm sure you will be satisfied compared over what you may have been using.

    2112 california lager

This was the first yeast I used in my new ferm chamber, I used a generic lagering method without reading the specs. It fermented around 50F if my memory serves me correctly-not the reccomended 58 to 68. It still ended up being beer but, it was fairly weak on the flavor side.

Classic mistake - late night brewing

Sometimes it's the beer I'm drinking that prompts me into brewing! So some of the time I get mixed results. I can't help but drink while brewing-I thought it was a law or something.

    Too Far?

I'm not paraniod but, lately I have been growing my own hops, moving to all grain, and harvesting yeast. That's on top of casting my own bullets and stocking up on gunpowder. I'm not doing this in preperation for anything just for the love of doing things. My friends all joke that they know...

BIAB brew stand with hoist and pump

As long as the majority of the weight is over the center then tipping should not be a problem. Hey fortydegnorth, thanks-now I have to go spend a bunch of money trying to build something like this! LOL, seriously, that is an awsome build!

1/2" wort chiller from straight copper pipe?

If you want something that no one else has then do it. It does seem like a lot of extra work but, to each their own.

How Do You Mount a Burner?

Thanks, I primarily do 5 gallon batches in my keggle with an occasional 10 gallon. As far as material goes I have access to more. I just wasn't sure if they were bolted in or?

How Do You Mount a Burner?

I'm looking to build a new burner stand but not sure how to mount a burner in it. I'm more of a framer and not so much a finish carpenter. Pics of mounting would be awsome! I haven't purchased a burner yet so if you have any suggestions please say so. I'll be using some old racking with pre...

    how long before kegging?

I uaually wait as long as I can stand it once on the gas, typically about 12 days total. Just sample as you go!!

    cold crashing

I agree with chickypad's advice in regards to kegging. My gas pressure really varies-I have two different taps with different lenght lines. I overpressure for about 2 days at 20-25PSI while cold crashing. Then I'll set them at 10 PSI for a day or two while pulling samples a couple times per day...
