As the title states, how do you sanitize hops for dry hopping? I ended up with a bacterial infection after my first attempt at brewing with my backyard harvest and am trying to narrow down what might have been the cause.

The box it comes in is rather plain with few markings. Simply indicates "Megapot 1.2" and the size and part #. That's it. no indication of where it was made.

Are the gallon markings painted on, or are they etched into the metal? If painted, I'm wondering how many batches they will stay on there before wearing off.
