    Bells Oberon Clone

Heres my two cents on this Oberon clone. I used Boerderij_Kabouter's recipe and followed it to a tee, minus the decoction and the yeast. I harvested Bells yeast from an Oberon bottle and stepped it up 4 times before I brewed. I did a single step infusion mash with the same grain bill and then...

    Soda Siphon Seltzer Bottle

I wonder if there is a way to attach a keg post to the bottle to pressurize it with a few psi.

    Soda Siphon Seltzer Bottle

So my brother gave me a Seltzer bottle that he thought I could use for homebrewing. The problem is I have no idea what to do with it. I've searched this site and cant find anyone that has used it for anything. Do you guys have any ideas? Is there a way to pressurize this thing with my co2...

    Very cool.

    Cold sparging, great results.

The hot sparge also gives you a consistent time that the conversion stops. Not a big deal if youre not trying to duplicate your beer.

Retire your mash paddle... POWER TOOL TIME

This was a huge help! I've helped a friend do some all grain batches with his mash paddle. I just did my first all grain today with a grout mixer and it was so much easier. Thanks again.

    Dumb n00b Question on "Keezers"

Chest freezers hold more kegs and are easier to get things in and out of. Also easier to build a collar to get beer lines out of the keezer.

    YES! Keezer Beginnings!

I put my temp probe in a bottle of water in the keezer. It is a much more accurate representation of the beer temp. It also keeps the compressor from kicking on and off too much.

What is your experience with peated malt?

I've used peat a couple of times. A friend of mine brewed a peat smoke IPA that was outstanding so I thought I'd try it in a porter. I screwed up the recipe and put 2lbs of peat smoke in a 5.5 gallon batch. I will use peat smoke again but this beer tasted like a campfire. Everyone says they...

Racking from one corny to another

Hey everyone. I have been searching for a week and I havent found anything yet. With that said I apologize if there is an answer to this already. I have had a Maibock in a corny keg as a secondary. I know I need to get it off the yeast so I want to move it to another keg. My question is can...

    R Value of materials/refrigerator

I'm not trying to get by with the bare minimum, I am just tight on space. Building walls 2x4 instead of 2x10 will save me a ton of valuable space. So I'm leaning towards 2x4 walls insulated and skin with wood or styrofoam insulation.

    R Value of materials/refrigerator

I'm building a walk in cooler in my basement. If a chest freezer only has 14-20 does that mean that thats all I need for the walls of my cooler?

weird pressure relief valve and ???

Just thought I'd respond to this topic in case anyone else has the same problem. That is a Coke keg. Pepsi kegs have a pull ring relief valve, Coke has no way of relieving the pressure unless you push in the middle of the gas in post.
