    Brazing cam lock fittings

Yeah, must have forgot the C... It will be good for keeping it from burning out the element, but that's about it.

How loud are the panel mount LED alarm buzzer?

Loud enough to not think I would want it on a switch but add one during testing after I had my panel assembled...

    Brazing cam lock fittings

The average fluid velocity over the element is much higher than in a low watt density rims tube, I believe that it should have no problem with scorching. I also left the klixon in the circuit which has an upper limit of 135, probably not quite low enough Hopefully I'll have everything in a...

    Brazing cam lock fittings

Came out of a coffee maker. It's 120V and 900 watts

    Brazing cam lock fittings

The element diameter is 0.400 which I found quite odd... Compression fittings were my first thought, but I'll just go 3/8" silicone on the element to 1/2" hose barb (with a lot of stretching, but I think it will work) on the box with a camlock.

    Brazing cam lock fittings

Hmm. I probably will go with the house barb (type e) style, so I don't end up with a big stack of adaptors. Might that still fit??? It kind of like like there is the same amount of space on bargainfittings, but hard to guess...

    Brazing cam lock fittings

I'm working on a little coffee maker RIMS system in a little box and am going to and try cram some cam locks in it. It would be handy of there were some bulkhead or panel mount styles available at a reasonable price but I don't see anything out there. Anyway, if I braze a pair of male...

Hot Pod w/ Loud Speaker Connectors?

True. How many watts is your element brewApprentice? I used a 4500 watt element to stay below 20 A and within the limits of the 20 A powercon connectors. The 20 A connectors are about the same price as the speakon connectors. I have done a couple brews on my rig with a lead hardwired to...

    Coffee maker rims system?

OK, So I happened to be considering the same thing and had an old coffee maker that I saved for this or a similar purpose... The heating element I have is a 900 watts protected/controlled by a klixon set to 145°C(293°F). It has an active length and a star shaped cross section inside. The total...

    2 ssr 1 pid

It may screw up your PID tuning depending on the load, though it would probably be close enough. Are you able to guarantee that the system is reasonably well mixed between your probe and heat source with a pump or something? If you are able to do that, you should be able to run an element at...

Getting Married, Good excuse to brew beer, but (where) can I serve it? (MO)

Well, it looks like we have found a couple places that will serve the homebrew so I am super excited! A lot wouldn't, or would only allow it as favors, but being able to serve seems pretty cool. So far it looks like they prefer bottles so I don't have an excuse to start kegging... yet On the...

Getting Married, Good excuse to brew beer, but (where) can I serve it? (MO)

Hi all! It'sbeen a while since I've been around, but I have a great excuse to brew lots of beer! The problem is can I serve it? I know lots of people serve homebrew at the reception, but how may places actually allow this? I'm looking for locations in the St. Louis area that would be...

    DIY-ish CNC Mini Mill

could you not define your path in an axial direction? I made a mini wind turbine once and used a pattern with my cuts basically tangent to the blades. it seems like in an application like this you would have a more consistent finish with you tool marks in the same relative direction. neat...

I carbonated my star-san and now it's cloudy

my star san ends up cloudy as well, even when first mixed. My water is stupid hard though. but yeah, I would expect hard water to remain clear of it is an acid... sorry no solution... or is it?

    Swamp Cooler Temperature Control Question

you could attach a probe to the outside of your bucket/carboy and cover it in a big mass of water tight insulation. the idea in doing this would be that the insulation around the probe has a significantly higher thermal resistance than the bucket/carboy and would essentially tell you the temp...
