I made an "imperial" English pale ale once; used KG for bittering, flavor, aroma, and dry hopping. Came out great.

If I had more dollars than sense (not going to happen), I might consider it as a supplement to my current "system" (a pot, a bucket, and a carboy), maybe just for lagers. Of course, I'd probably go with their "advanced" method of steeping grains on my stove before adding the extract, and then...

I gave one to SWMBO for Christmas. She & the kids love it. Refills are $15, but she had a coupon for $5 off last time we refilled... Works fine. We have different flavored syrups for it, but mostly the kids drink carbed water this way. And, no, I have not tried to force carb my homebrew with it!

Just take comfort that you have one helluva backup in place!
