    Stored keg cleaning?

I brewed up two beers last October. One had heavy pumpkin puree in the mash ( Pain in the A ). They have been in the keezer at 38-42* and empty under pressure still. I havent looked at them, but am sure there is dried sediment. What does everyone use to clean and scour their cornies? The gasket...

1st Hop Addition at 25 Minutes - IPA Feedback Request

I always do a large starter and have not had any issues reaching FG. I could be wrong ( Im not a huge water manipulator ) but its my belief that water ( other than ph ) has little to nothing to do the yeast as opposed to hitting your mash temps and efficiency. Yoop has VERY sound advice and her...

1st Hop Addition at 25 Minutes - IPA Feedback Request

My beers had an acrid taste ( to me ) that nobody could define or describe. Most didnt even know it was there until I pointed it out. I switched to bottled water and it went away. I suspect chlorine as my new house has good tap water and FAR less chlorination and its not there. To your OP, I...

    German Pilsner.

I am looking for a tried and true German Pilsner recipe for an all grain 5 gallon batch. I get 75% eff. Never brewed a pilsner and really want to. Also, do I need to step mash the pilsner malt or just mash 152 for an hour and boil longer?

    Acai Beer?

What if you just used some extract syrup instead of berries and use them at bottle. Then they dont get fermented out and the flavor will be more prominent.

    Winter brew? Ideas please!!

I can lager. I brew with the grainfather, and my largest bill yet was 18 pounds and it handled well. I may be leaning towards yoops stout.

    Winter brew? Ideas please!!

I am looking for a great, tried and true All Grain recipe for this winter. I have a red wheat IPA about to keg. I thought about Yoopers Stout as its just plain awesome. I also thought about a snow cap clone but cannot find consistency on it. I thought about a porter. I thought about just a malty...

    GrainFather and Pumpkin!

I gave mine a wrap with reflectix. And I had enough leftover to do a second wrap since its pretty thin. It's far cheaper than the jacket and works just as well.

    GrainFather and Pumpkin!

Yup! I get a nice boil. Takes me about 15-20 minutes for mash temps and about 10-15 for a boil after sparge. But as soon as I lift the basket to sparge, I kick it on boil.

    Grainfather!!

That should do just fine. I just keep an open window. Does the trick.

    Grainfather!!

To me, it looks like that can be crushed far better. Mine definitely is crushed finer and I get 80-85% eff. When you look at it, are there any hulls uncracked? They should be all or mostly empty.

    Grainfather!!

If you can, post a pic of your crush.

    Grainfather!!

Not much goes through the pipe. I'd say your crush is too thin or your getting a lot of dough balls.
