    Bottle a beer a couple of days ago. Looked at the bottles and it seems most of them have some sort of solid/gellish material floating on top of the beer. Never seen anything like it. Possibly a result of contamination? What do y'all think? I do not think it is left hops of just stuff that is...

    how long in secondary is safe.

    I have an IPA in a secondary its been in there for maybe 1 month. It was in the primary for a month also. I'm really busy can I leave it in the secondary for another month and be ok?

    Moving the secondary 10 miles

    So I am moving houses. I have an IPA in a secondary. I am going to have to move it 10 miles in my car, Its going to get a pretty good shaking.. Any advice.. the move has to happen.. How long will it take for it all to settle back down..is this bad for my beer.

    Light damage in secondary.

    I like to brown paper bag Idea. I just bottled can I keep the beers in a room that has artificial light or should I move it to a dark room.

    I boiled the sugar for about 4-5 minutes then cooled the water/sugar solution down to about 75 Degrees F and poured it on top of the beer. Then stirred, bottled

    So I poured the priming sugar in after I poured the beer in the bottling bucket. I mixed it as well as I could with the fear oxygen in my mind. So I stirred it well, but not to crazy. Will I have bottle bombs and flat beers?

    Interesting, I did an Ipa mini mash not to long ago its instructions said nothing about dry-hopping. Whats up with that? The procedure just called for 3oz of hops during the boil. Also should I take a sample out of the secondary and use that to check the sg. And if so can i dump that sample...

    Light damage in secondary.

    I just figured out that light could hurt my beer. I have been using an LED flashlight to look into my beer a couple times a day to check clarity. Obviously I should avoid this practice will this skunk my beer?

    Exact AA% is not known. It is listed as medium on Austin home brew site where i got the kit. 6 pounds of lme. I guess i will just see out it works out and just brew another one tomorrow in case it doesn't taste good. Thanks for all your help

    My belgian pale ale is black.

    1/2 lb belgian pale ale matl 1/2 lb Caravienne 5lbs extra pale extract 2lbs Munich extract 1 oz hersbrucker 1/2 oz styrian gold It looks dark in the secondary way more than two inchs. In the siphon tube its really light. The siphon tube is maybe 1/3 inch thick

    My belgian pale ale is black.

    So decided to transfer my belgian pale ale after 2 weeks into a secondary. It looked pale in the siphon tube but is now a dark blackish color in the secondary. Will this clear up?
