I ended up getting 2 B-Group tix. Was on a conference call with some friends and we all went in at the exact same time. I came away with 2 B's one person got 2 D's and 2 others got nothing.
I would never have even considered getting on this crazy bandwagon in the past, but last summer I tasted...
I was supposed to go to GABF for my birthday last year (had tickets and all), but babysitter fell through and the trip got cancelled. Hope your trip doesn't see the same fate!
I saw this one on Amazon and was wondering if anyone had used this to heat up water for mashing or sparging?
Isn't this basically a manufactured heat stick that I have seen all around the DIY sections? And if you have used them, have you compared the cost to that of a DIY heat stick?
I had the same idea but went with the Sudo-Caramel Malts (sic) option. I ended up getting some nice color. Probably a little more toward the 20L than the 10L, but it makes me think that a 55# sack is way more economical than I originally thought.
The Grape and Granary has gotten some good pub from people I know that have used them. I have no experience personally though.

I know, I know. But it happened.
I made a Kolsch that I totally misjudged the final volume on and ended up making what can only be described as an Imperial Kolsch. I was downtrodden but figured RDW etc. So I racked it to secondary and tucked it away in a corner and have forgotten about it...
That's what's gonna happen if the itch gets too bad. I am trying to keep off the US Plastics site...I'm sure I would end up with way more batches going than SWMBO and the 5 kiddos would appreciate.
but unfortunately, I can as all of my fermenters (a whole whopping 3 of them) are full. To add insult to injury, I have the ingredients for 2 more brews just hanging out. :(.
Just needed to vent to those who may also feel/ have felt my pain.
I have to say that I have been very please with the service, crush, delivery speed, etc of Brewmasters Warehouse. It always nice to be able to order on a Tuesday and have my ingredients ready for Saturday (with standard shipping too).
I have 5 kids (oldest is 9)...it is definitely a chore trying to carve out time to brew and my brew sessions will extend deep in to the night. With the weather changing it's a little easier to be outside with them while I am mashing or boiling. But it is a balancing act no doubt.
If it were me Jolly Pumpkin would be a must on the list. If you are at all in to sour beers...this brewery is it. Ron Jefferies is on another plane. He has 2 of GQ's "50 beer to try before you die" on it.
What sort of hopping schedule were you guys using with the Citra? I was thinking about trying a citra-wheat myself and adding some citrus fruit to it since the hop has such a grapefruity flavor to it.
I'm looking to make a "porch-pounder" for when the hot weather comes.
Fermentation was @ a steady 66 in the basement.
I am thinking that the hose that I used to get water might be leeching some undesirables in to the water I was using. I did 2 brews this weekend (one with hose and one from kitchen sink) to test out the theory.
I did rack it to secondary and am...
I brewed a kolsch just shy of 2 weeks ago. It was a great brew day except that the boil was a little more vigorous that I thought and my 5 gallons became about 3.75. Pre-pitch my gravity was 1.068 (I guess I was going for Imperial) and I pitched WLP German Kolsch yeast (2 vials) @ 68 deg...
