Did you do a whole 5 plus gallon mash? If not can you put down an better detailed mash instructions?

I only ask because I don't have the means of milling.

This may sound like a n00b question, but did you put the grains in the oven whole or milled?

I use my friend well water for all my brews. Makes the best brew! The water is delicious!

Here is your update. They are prolly toast. Pisses me off.

I live in the mountains of eastern TN and I put in 4 Rhizomes on Monday a few days after they arrived. Don't have any bines yet, but here is hoping to a good root development year!

I have read that they used hop oil in the original brewing of the XXX Ale. And later on they dry hopped instead. I just brewed up a clone I found in this months BYO.
