    Brix to OG ?

So I have been using a refractometer for the last 4 batches and using a scale found on the Internet that seems to differ from a brewing friends. Does anyone know of a good approved scale of switching my Brix reading over to an OG? Also is it true you cannot use a refrac to measure FG?

    Beer or Hop Tattoo?

Anyone here have a beer related tat that they wana show? I've been thinking about permanently attaching some beer like artwork to my skin. I want to incorporate the basic ingredients into a nice tat. I don't see myself regretting something that has taken a hold of my soul.

    Kegging

So I have a high final gravity Belgian IPA that I fermented with a Saison yeast and I wanted to bring the fg down a bit more. I wanted to see if it was possible to keg this beer and then add more yeast. Would this be a good way of carbing or a bad idea? It's right around 1.032 right now and I...

    Clean up yeast

When a beer does not attenuate enough , what type of yeast would one add to finish the job? I have an IPA that didn't quite get there.

This reads out at 1.037. I let this thing ferment out warm and pitched a good starter. The beer fermented fast and dropped out some what clear, but I gave it a good week...

    Plantains?

My folks are huge into the south caribbean, and I wanted to see if anyone has ever used plantains in a batch. I was thinking about a cream ale with roughly 5-6 #'s. Because plantains have a HUGE amount of starch in them I was wondering if I could somehow convert these starches to sugar water and...

    Pruning Bines?

So all of my hops are trained and at least 4 feet tall. All of them are putting off a lot of growth (long side arms) up the first couple feet. When do you normally trim up the hop bines? I have heard that doing this helps with top growth and good cone production. I am referring to hop bines that...
