    Hello from Kansas

Took about a 3 year break from brewing, but have my first brew done and cleaned up. Managed to just about hit my OG (shooting for 1057, got 1058) on a partial mash. SWMBO surprised me with an early valentines day kit on Friday, so I was scrambling a bit to get the numerous spiders and gunk that...

I'm a few years off from having kids, but I definitely hope to have kids like that!

    Beer that ages well?

I could be wrong, but I thought there was still a lot of cleaning up the yeast does over time to contribute to the aging. Especially since there is such a small amount of yeast. I figured it would take a loooong time for the yeast to start dying off and breaking down.

    Turin, Italy

I am going to Turin for a conference in September. Anyone know of any good regional selections I should sample? I'm definitely not a big fan of wine, but have heard that northern Italy has more beer than southern Italy.

    Flavor deterioration

Could you be getting major aeration while transferring/bottling? Just a thought, I'm still a major newb too. :)

Need a home depot shopping list for my new keg system

I use a dual regulator, and I swear I only paid $35 for it. But that was over a year ago. You only need the CO2 connected when pumping CO2 to carb (couple of minutes maybe) and when serving. Kegerator is the most important thing. I know I picked up a used one on craigslist with 20 lb CO2...

    Amazing

Mods, feel free to delete/not post this. I just wanted to share a noob "don't worry, have a homebrew story". 2 weeks ago I did my first partial mash ever. My only other experience was 2 extract batches over a year ago. First, the kit said it had a grain bag. None in there. Had the wife...

    Question about spoiling

I am really interested in using a a counter pressure bottle filler, but I really want to do a decent throughput of batches without tying up fridge space. I understand that I need to cool both the keg and the bottles. However, after that is done, I plan on putting most of the bottles in the...

    Hello from Kansas

I'm still pretty new to the whole brewing thing. Lots of reading done, but only 2 batches brewed (and only one actually turned out). Hope to get a lot more brewed this summer!
