    thanks for the feedback.. definitly sanitized everything ...thats one thing i did go overboard on anyway...I have another pack of yeast and will give it a go ..I will try rehydrate it first to make sure its ok... Is it as simple as rehydrate yeast and throw it in.. ?

    Hi finally got round to doing my first brew and I may have dead / likked my yeast. I used an oktoberfest kit, heres my actions as per instructions on the tin... had sugar ,,dextrose? (brewers sugar anyway) mixed with hot water in a pot / while mixing the dextorse I had the beer mix standing...

    adding in honey

    Hi I am wondering if in a ale kit if i substitute some of the sugars i need to add with honey..I am brewing a pale ale....how will it effect the fermentation / end taste...or am i better off using normal sugar( white or brown)...any ther tips of fermentables that one could get from a helath...

    the yeast was only marked with a serial number...in a silver package...there was alos a yeast nutrient.....what is the worst case secenario if it isnt a lager yeast ? will i produce poison ?

    it didnt say it was dried yeast in a package. I am using a kit by brewmaker. First time round so I am not very knowlegable. I presume it is a lager yeast as it was sold as a lager kit...

    If i brew at temps of 50- 60f am I going to low or should I get a heater. I am going to brew a pils from a kit. In a bucket then into a plastic brewmaker keg. then into bottle ? will the cold kill me or is it handy for pils ? forgive the lack of know how......

    Wirgin brewer vs me beer kit

    thanks guys..I am a fair few miles from my local guy here in Ireland . He resides in a little place in the mountains ( its like a story book setting) but he is a nice guy. I think I will tackle a pale ale instead so as I do prefer those to pils anyway, I just went for the most popular kit he had.
