Hello, I have a 2 keg system and I cannot seem to find my leak. I've had this system for a few years now. I thought it might be one of the posts but I've turned off the regulator for a few days and when I pull the relieve valve there's still pressure. Ive sprayed star San all over the place...

Beer related venues near Salem, MA?

The wife and I are going to be in Salem, MA for a few days. Any highly recommended beer related places? Breweries, craft beer bars, bottle shops? Night shift brewing looks interesting however appears to be about a 45 minute drive. Any input appreciated. Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

Going up to the Finger Lakes with the wife for a couple days. Doing a day of just beer stuff. We'll be staying near Ithaca and plan on mostly doing Cayuga Lake area stuff if possible. Definitely going to Ithaca brewery, Wagner Valley and Hopshire Farms and Brewery sounds interesting. Probably...

For those of you with converted fridge kegerators...

Is it worth it? I currently have a 2 tap converted chest freezer but am probably buying a house and will end up with an old refrigerator I'm going to replace. I'm considering turning it into a kegerator. I like the idea of being able to just open the door and futz around inside (less lifting...

    Banjo Burner not burning properly

Hey I was wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks or can let me know if I'm screwed. I have this banjo burner, http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009JXYQ4/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20. Been using it for a couple years with no issue. Recently it was sitting outside in a snow storm in a spot where I...

water ok for brewing in Glens Falls, NY?

Hey I just moved to the area and was wondering if anyone uses the city water for brewing. I figure Davidson Brothers probably does and their beer is yummy but I didn't know if anyone made adjustments or whatnot. I googled for a water report but couldn't find anything helpful. Thanks

Places in or near Raleigh, NC?

Hey there, the wife and I are heading to Raleigh this coming weekend and I'm seeing if any of you fine folks have any suggestions for cool places to go; breweries/brewpubs or any other beer related places. We're considering moving there so we're going to check it out. Thanks in advance!

    another first time grower thread

Very inexperienced as a gardener so bear with me here. So I just ordered some rhizomes, I know I'm a little late but it's been cold up here until a few days ago anyhow. I ordered 2 centennial and 2 chinook. I originally ordered two of each because I read somewhere to plant 2 in case one doesn't...

    Will this harshness fade?

I moved not too long ago and I started using the tap water to brew. I now have a couple of beers with this really harsh bitterness. I've read that this can either be from too high of sulfate or from the water being too alkaline. Does anyone know if this this will fade given time?

Wyeast 2124 Bohemian Lager fermented in mid 60's

Sorry if this has been covered, I didn't really find much on a search. After watching the Brewing TV episode about lager brewing I decided I wanted to try something. They said (and it also says this on the Wyeast website) that the Bohemian Lager yeast could be fermented into the high 60's and I...

    Hops/yeast not refrigerated?

So I was at this place in upstate NY doing a wine tasting this past weekend and as it turned out they had a little section in their store with homebrewing supplies, so of course I had to take a look. I noticed that their entire stock of hops (crosby and baker brand I think?) and dried yeast...

    Eis Double IPA

Whenever I hear of eis beers, they're always barleywines and scotch ales; something that tends to be on the sweeter side. Has anyone ever had/made a double IPA with tons of dry hops and then eised it?

    tiny snifters?

I was in this awesome local shop that specializes in craft beers and local cheeses and they have a few beers on tap that you can get growlers of or have a pint of and such. If you ask for a sample, they give you these teeny tiny little snifters for your samples. I really wanna find me some of...

    The amazing collapsible braid

I've been looking around but haven't quite found the answer to my query. I had a problem recently where my stainless steel braid in my MLT collapsed during a batch and I had to strain out the whole thing, blahblahblah. My question is, I know some people reinforce the braid in different ways. Can...

    sour starter

Hello, I made a starter with wyeast 1968 and I just pulled it out of the fridge and it smells extremely sour. I had it sitting at room temp(about 65) for about 4 days and then stuck it in the fridge for a day. I put a few hop pellets in the starter wort too. Should I just decant the liquid and...
