    I'm BUBBLING!!!!

Congrats on the first batch. One thing I would recommend is that you not use the water from the garden hose. Keep a spray bottle handy for boil overs. The hose water can have a funky taste, and contain some nasty chemicals if the hose is not rated for drinking water.

    Is this bad practice?

There are some potential issues with using the sprayer to top off. Mainly the bacteria that may be on the sprayer tip and in the water. Also using non-boiled tap water may have excessive chlorine (according to the ppm in your area). But hey, if you like your end result then there are no...

Keg with a rubber top and bottom for Keggle

I just picked one up to tryout. Its not rubber on the top and bottom, but a plastic cap. You can pop it off to reveal a rounded bottom. Time to call the welder. I got this keg for cheap and they had like 15-20 more just waiting to get bought by me if I can make this work. anyone interested...

Keg with a rubber top and bottom for Keggle

Does anyone know if the rubber will come off? I have an opportunity to pick up 5 kegs like this on the cheap. I just need to know if I can use them for keggles.

    Question with first brew

There are no bad things that can come from more yest int the wort. All you did was make their job easier.

Cold tap water in my hot yeast

I am assuming you are talking about the wort for the starter pre-pitch. If so that is fine. Just let it cool to 70 degrees again before adding the yeast. :mug:

    A couple of keg questions

I am not a kegger but I would venture a guess that you could bend the diptube a little so that it doesnt touch the trub. You may need new o-ring to fix the leaking issue....but again not a kegger.

    1st AG - Inconsistent Flavor

I don't think the lights would cause the taste. If you say it a hot alcohol taste, that would be related to the yeast. If it had a cardboard/stale bread flavor that would be oxidation. It was most likely a bad set of bottles that were infected or had a massive temp flux. Are the ones that...
