Very low carbonation at 6.5 weeks

I had a Mild Brown a few months ago that was the same way,it just wouldn't carb up. A friend suggested rousing the yeast and putting them in the garage where the temp. was in the 80,s low 90,s. for a week or so. Worked like a charm.

    beginner's mistakes

Some of the best advice I got when I started was to take your time and don't rush things. Take your time on every step. Brew day, bottling and most important aging, let your beer sit as long as it should. Rushing leads to mistakes.

I only counted 5 out of the 23 with ABVs below 4% that still leaves plenty to choose from.

    AHS 50 Cent Beers?

I've brewed 3 from that list. The Honey Wheat, Belgian White, and the Mexican Pilsner. All of them turned out very good. So good in fact that I just got 2more of the Belgians in yesterday to brew this weekend.

    Pumpkin Extract

I'm going to be making a Pumpkin Ale and I want to really taste the Pumpkin. I was wondering if anyone had used a pumpkin flavored extract? Maybe put a little in at bottling. Nature's Flavors : Pumpkin Flavor Concentrate

    Best cider ever.

The first batch that I made was pretty sour at about 2 weeks in the bottle too. At a 5 - 6 weeks it was wonderful just a hair tart just like I like it. Let it age it will smooth out. I think that the juice might have been the reason also it was the cheapest stuff I could find.

    Best cider ever.

Whats the most DME that anyone has used in this? I've brewed a batch with 2lbs and it was great. I have one going now that has 6lbs DME and 2.5 gal apple juice. The last hydro sample tasted great.

    No More Rhino Farts!

I used one from an heating and air filter. The weave wasn't very tight so I doubled it. Works great! Cost me 10 bucks I just removed the carbon layer and used the rest as a filter for my unit. Looks like I will have enough for 10 batches. These should work to...

    No More Rhino Farts!

Just tape some Activated Carbon cloth around the top of of you airlock or blow off bucket and it absorbs the odor. You can get this cheaply from air condition filters, the small disk water filters that go in coffee makers ect.. :rockin:

    should I add water

I did something similar with my first brew. I purchased 5 gals of bottled water to brew with and did not think about boil off. I didn't even realize it until I bottled it and came up short. Its been in the bottle for about 3 weeks and turned out great.

What brand of bench capper is the best?

While the Colonna is all plastic, the gear and the shaft are made out of Nylon. Which I suspect (but not positive) is Nylon 6/6 . The same material that we use to make gears in some machines. Very tough stuff.

    Opening Primary

Thanks for the replies guys. I think I'll wait another week then take a reading and bottle it. I didn't think about CO2 being heavier than air. I tasted the sample I took and its already tasting pretty good just needs some carbonation.
