    Imho the crush is as good if not better then multi roller setups.. its also super easy to adjust.. you just tweak the crushplate with the thumbscrew to adjust.. dont even have to stop the mill... I always loved the original phil mill so when I couldn't even find a used one I just decided...

    Nope I left it white.. in the picture with the lid open you can see how it sits back from the edge a bit so when its closed unless y ou get down eye level with it you cant really see the seal anyways so I left it be... Yup just need to attach it.... going to go the 9 dollar stainless steel...

    thats what I do I use the paint bag but after the boil.... throw my hops in like normal then after my IC had chilled my wort off I pull it and put it inside the paint strainer I have had soaking in sanitizer put the whole thing back into the pot and siphon out from inside the nice clear pool...

    no Con he is asking why when he adds sugar it lowers the IBU's and such... The higher your wort gravity is the lower utilization of the AA's you get.... So as your adding your corn sugar its increasing your gravity and hence the lower IBU's

    This is what I do now.... unbelievably simple and effective and no extra equipment that may fail melt or generally screw up LOL just soak your strainer bag in sanitizer while boiling, chill the wort with the IC, pull IC and put IC into bag, return to kettle and siphon from the pretty pool thats...

    Ya know somethings just aint broke so why try to fix it :) Shake it or if thats to much work(it is a pain and frankly dangerous with glass) Use a piece of racking cane melt a hole or two in it with a fine needle and put it inline of your hose(there is a venturi thread around here somewhere...

    +1 on oxyclean and a washcloth..... And like was mentioned you want just enough water for the washcloth scrub to work... to much and it just floats.... maybe a cup or two is plenty then swirl the hell outta the carboy and it gets really nice and clean
