    Sedimentary my dear Watson

I really have no idea 😆 I'm learning as I go, this is my first brew, the help on here is absolutely awesome 👍

Is my yeast top or bottom fermenting?

Ooooh :/ guess I might run a 65° to clean it up a bit 👍 I literally just posted a reply asking about this, I've been trying to work out if it's the brew or something else giving me headaches..

    Sedimentary my dear Watson

Will definitely give it a try. You sound quite experienced, do you have any suggestions why as to my ferment could cause headaches?? I don't mean next morning 😆 literally soon after having a glass, presuming it's not something else causing it..

    Sedimentary my dear Watson

This is really interesting, so I shouldn't need to add more yeast? Though run the risk of it not fermenting??

    Sedimentary my dear Watson

How do I use it? I mean, hasn't the yeast become inactive/used?? How would using the sediment improve or worsen the next fermentation??

Is my yeast top or bottom fermenting?

So, does that mean a banana ferment shouldn't have any foam??

    Sedimentary my dear Watson

I've collected the sediment from a banana fermentation, keep it, use it, if so what for? Etc..

Really rough apple sauce brew lol

3 jars of apple sauce 1 part the above 5 parts water, added yeast. Added yeast too hot at first, impatiently waited for 35°c, added a bit more, stuck it in the airing cupboard 😂 Smelled too yeasty for a while, that's eased off now, has a froth on top, so I'm hopeful 😊👍🏻 A really rough brew...

    Vevor stills...steer clear

Wow, this is a sad situation! Hope you recover well! I bought a cheap alternative to the same still, I'll tread with caution! Been ok so far, but wow man, that's nasty :(

    Banana beer

I prefer the name banana beer than banana wine, so I thought I'd put the thread in here. Although, I am aware that banana is essentially a berry. Since the post I have had a taste. I used the airlock hole to put a pipette through and extracted a sample. It has no sugary taste, I there is some...

    Banana ferment

Thank you, this is insightful and very helpful. I didn't have any water in the airlock at first, because I had read plenty of articles about just leaving the ferment with a loose lid. Once it appear to have become inactive, a day or so ago, I put some water in the airlock and continued with the...

    Brew resuscitation

It's only on day 11, there's no audible action going on. I've swirled it to see if that has any effect, but nothing. I'm wondering if I should strain and taste..

    Brew resuscitation

I'm hoping that this might help with my banana brew. Is it possible to use the same tactic to increase ABV??

    Banana beer

Hi everyone I started a banana ferment 11 days ago, there's no audible activity, even if I swirl the bucket to get physical movement, it doesn't provoke any fizz or bubbling. I don't even know if fizzing or bubbling should occur in any case 😆 I haven't got a hydrometer, the mix was kind of...

    Newbie needs help and advice!

Wow, sounds like you know your stuff already!! I'm just starting out, from knowledge zero, cheapest rig I could find, I've been throwing up videologs to radiobane and now I've found this site too. Had some long days, late nights getting into this, I'm hooked! It's great! Hope your journey is...

Newbie here, advice would be great 👍🏻

Hi there brew and distillery fiends I'm new to all this, I started doing some videologs on radiobane the channel is for fun with a few aspects of satire and political jest. Uploaded a few water runs and more recently a sacrificial wine run. Any advice would be greatly welcomed, support for the...

Is there a methanol per liter ratio?

Disappointing, it did start out as a sacrificial run, so I guess it's not too much of a loss. I've read that new kit needs to be not only cleaned but 'run in' too, is that right?
