    Some labels I worked up

I use these more as kegerator and tap handle art, but I do keep a few around for when I bottle up a growler or send bombers to friends. Nothing too fancy, but I have a blast doing them. This is for my version of the famous Centennial Blonde. Inspired by the gorgeous 1971 Topps baseball cards...

Will making and reducing pork stock ruin my kettle for brewing?

Hello, Was wondering this. A friend is having a party, making home made pork stock for some ramen, and wants to boil down 10 gallons to 5. He'll be using bones, meat, and fat. He's asked if he can borrow my equipment to do this, and I told him that would be ok as long as it wouldn't mess up my...

Looking for a LWD element less than 14" long

Howdy I bought one of those 9 gallon SS pots that AIH sells, and thought it'd be a good candidate for some winter 5 gallon electric brews while my 10g rig hibernates. The pot a little shy of 14" round, and I am curious if any of you know of a 12-13" LWD/ULWD element (a 2000w 120 is preferred)...

Two 30 Gallon plastic conical tanks w/stands and hardware

I bought these tanks from a farmer late last winter. He never got to using them, and from what I can see they're brand new with only a little weathering on the stands from being in his barn for a year. I bought them with the plan to turn them into a couple of fermenters, but I haven't had a need...

    Question about building a Randall

Hey gang, So I have everything I need to build a Randall except for the often mentioned steel tube in the middle. My question is, a 10" chunk of blowoff tube would fit perfectly on the filter housing I got. If I were to drill some 1/16 or so holes in the bottom third of the tube, would it work...

Free 3M home water test kit.

A coworker who is big into saltwater tanks sent me this link: http://www.3mcleanerworld.com/Content/TestWater.jsp?bmUID=1267693239421 Just some basic info to give them (home address, email) and this will (hopefully) come your way. It says it "Tests for Total Chlorine, Free Chlorine, Iron...

    Bittering after fermentation?

Long story short, the last beer I brewed ended up with gravity potentially outshining the IBUS (1.075/69 IBUS), and I am wondering....can/should I do anything about it? Could I add some hop extract (hop shot) after fermentation? Or should I try and get the beer to dry out a bit, pushing the FG...

    Recipe feedback, please?

Me and a barkeeper friend are starting an informal (for now) homebrew club, and tomorrow I'll be doing a brew to show people how it's done. Yeah, I am kind of nervous....but I'll make it. HERE is the recipe I was thinking of going with. What do you guys think? Be honest....I won't cry. :)...

    Tower disassembly help/advice?

I recently ordered a two-tap tower with Perlicks. It arrived yesterday, so I got to work getting ready to get the kegerator in order. I soon noticed that I wasn't able to screw on one of the taps to the coupler. Soon I realized it was because the coupler was bent! I assume it came this way from...

    My first label

I brewed a big ol' IPA for my sister in NJ, who I'm visiting next month. I thought it'd use a label...so I threw one together in paint.net and printed them out via MS Publisher. I think it turned out nice. What do you think? :mug:

    My Kegerator is dying...please help!

A couple of months ago I bought a used Kenmore 4.6cft mini fridge. I was able to move the freezer shelf/cooling line, popped a faucet on the front, and was using it as a single keg kegerator since with no problems. The other day, I notice it's a bit warmer. I put a thermometer in there, and it...

    Hello from Southern Minnesota!

Hello all, First off, let me first say that as a new brewer, you guys have been an invaluable resource of information that I appreciate in many ways. I'm a home coffee roaster, and at the end of last September I had enough extra dough to get a proper coffee roaster. At the last minute I...
