    Breaking in the new kettle

A little photo album of grains to beer from this weekend's brewing adventure. Just bought a new 19 gallon kettle, so this was its maiden voyage! https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/110722990691314256482/albums/5882675963154273345 mmmmmm, beer...

What's the worst craft brew (commercial) you've had?

Dead Frog 2.5 Year Anniversary Ale, if you drank the water you had boiled 6 hot dogs in, it would taste similar.

YAY! for new equipment - 19 gallon SS kettle

The label is done using a template I found online at one point. It's a "Word Art File" so it's easy to pull apart, mix and match the pieces all in word. I'm not that good at photoshop or any of the vector design programs so I needed something that even I could figure out. PS: If you'd like the...

YAY! for new equipment - 19 gallon SS kettle

Got my new kettle yesterday, so looking forward to brew day on Saturday! This is the pot and I added the Stainless steel bazooka strainer, the 2" temp gauge and the 3 ball valve - http://www.ontariobeerkegs.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=19-gallon-2weld This is the label -...

Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer ShiftlessBum's Nutty SkidMarc - Hazelnut Brown Ale

I think I'm "finished" with this recipe. I've been tweaking it and tweaking it and I'm finally at a point where I believe it's "done". The last batch was fantastic, a hint of chocolate, nice and nutty, no residual flavours on the tongue. All in all a crowd favourite at my place and one that is...

    Beer Gods

I think we've got us a making for our own religious war. Though we'll probably have all drank too much beer to show up.

    Beer Gods

Have I ever mentioned how much I love beer? I really, really do. I found a list of Beer Gods and I figure, out of that list, I'm going to become a worshipper of Ninkasi, cause not only do I get beer but she also has the power to satisfy human desire. Seems like a win/win to me. Now I just need...

    What are you drinking now?

I'm drinking a pint of my FIRST EVER ALL GRAIN beer! I started making homebrew about 5 years ago (well besides the Fear Beer I made at University in the mid 80s), progressed from kits to partial mashes and finally got the gear and started doing all grain. This is my first one, an IPA of my own...

    Messing with SWMBO

Some great ones here! Everytime my SWMBO and I would shower together in the corner of the mirror, I'd make a little "tick" mark in the steam. I was doing that for awhile when she finally asked me what I was doing. I told her that was the number of times I successfully peed on her in the shower...

Highly doubt i will ever buy leaf hops again.

I only use pellets if I'm dry hopping or I can't get leaf in the type of hops I'm looking for. Haven't really had any issues beyond a clogged siphon a couple of times.

    Personal Website?

:o Thanks everyone glad you like the photos. I really like panoramas, if you scan the Trip Reports you'll see that I take lots of them. It's hard to capture scale doing outdoor photography, panos help with that.

    Personal Website?

Recently did a full re-write of every page and every bit of code on my website so now it looks a lot nicer than what I had started with. Now that it's "cleaned-up" I'm hoping to start posting stuff there again soon. Since it's my "home" on the net I'll probably add a page on my beer brewing...
