Added 1/2 cup of table sugar to keg to help with some sweetness. 10 gal batch 12# Wheat malt 10# Pale 1#Honey malt 2 Oz Mt. Hood...

    Music While Brewing

I listen to Old Time Stringband music alot, probably cause I play fiddle & banjo. It's always on when I'm Brewing out in the garage. If I have time during the mash or a Long boil, I'll play a few tunes too.

This is interesting. What about Triticale?!

I used it a few times in Saisons, but can't remember the % or if it was Malted or not. We have a Craft Maltster in my town. He gave me some to try out. Now I'm on an Emmer kick ! It made Good beer. Try it along with your wheat malt. Cheers

    Endless Keg Phenomenon

I like to brew 10-12 gallon batches too, gives me something to drink young, whilst the other half ages gracefully. My kegs always chugg and gurgle just before that last glass...and boy does that last glass taste the best !! Oldest bit of the keg👍 Cheers

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Finally boiling at 10pm. I'm a late nite brewer it seems. Usually finish around 3am. Neighbors hear me clanking around & I always try to be quiet..... Making a 12 gal batch of wheat beer. 3 different yeasts. 4 gals Hefe, 8 gals of my house Cherry beer that everybody asks for. I think its too...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Just combined an old Panama Red Pale Ale recipe with Dennys Rye hop additions and a bit of Carafa dehusked/ Dingemans chocolate grains. Hopefully a nice hoppy caramel fall beer. US 05 yeast.

Which yeast for a Red/Brownish hoppy ale

I've got 1 pk of US05, and a Slurry of fresh Cosmic Punch for 12 gals. of wort. Should I use the slurry or use a pk of dry Abbey Ale yeast if I split the batch? Maybe even go 3 - 4 gal. Fermenter. My LHBS was out of my 1272 and I thought I had another pkg of US05....DUH Thoughts

pumpkin time... canned pumpkin in the mash or kettle?

Like others have said, use baking pumpkins and roast in the oven with dark brown sugar. There's a killer recipe online called "the best pumpkin beer ever". I've made it 3xs, yes it's the best.

    Wit Yeast for Triple ?

I shall brew it like a Specialty Tripple! Maybe a Delirium clone or something. Thanks all.

    Wit Yeast for Triple ?

I thought I read it's ceiling was 10%. Might give it a shot. Wyeast lists there 3944 wit yeast being compatible for other styles like a Triple. Was hoping others had tried it. Cheers

    Wit Yeast for Triple ?

I have a strong slurry of WL 400 Wit yeast that is on a 2nd batch of Wit beer. Has anyone ever tried a Belgium Triple recipe with this yeast? It seems a shame not to use it, and it smells so good. Thoughts ??

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Off topic but I remember awhile back guys were using Spelt in they're NEIPAs. I tried to find some locally, big bucks though and not easly available. So my local maltster in my town suggested Emmer. He said it's an ancient Wheat type grain, ancestor to Spelt. Said very similar, good head...

Rare(ish) oportunitiy for a married guy.. What would you do? Married or otherwise...

Wish I had that kinda time. I've always got slurrys of yeast waiting for another batch to be dropped on them, but family and life get in the way so they get dumped alot. I do refrigerate them, but shelf life happens quickly. Brew on Brother !

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Off topic, but what ever happened to Braufessor, the O.P. of this thread? Haven't heard from him since around page 300 or so? Still a fine recipe and a great start into the NEIPA rabbit hole !
