Over-carbed beer (no bottle bombs though)

So I stuck these down in my basement to forget about for a while. This weekend I cracked one open and the carbination was PERFECT. :mug: Moral of the story = time heals all wounds.

    Perfect Brewing Supply's "Ober-Easy" Kit?

"I have mine in a water bucket with ice and a fan for evaporative cooling, so it's sitting at around 66 degrees. " I fermented around 72 degrees (the ambient temp of my condo).

yes, extract is very sticky :ban:

    Wheat Beer Color??

"I soak them in hot sanitizer solution to help liquify the extract and sanitize the bag so that when I dump it into the pot I can dip the bag in there to rinse out any remaining extract." If you are boiling the wort already, why would you need to sanitize the bags?

    Wheat Beer Color??

"I've just never seen LME come in bags." LME definitely comes in bags.

I Brewed a Dortmunder Last Night

I picked up a Brewer's Best Dortmunder Style last night from the LHBS. I've never actually had a Dortmunder before, but it sounded tasty so I gave it a shot. I have to admit that I was pretty amazed by the amount of malt extract used in the recipe. There were 6.6lbs of LME and another 1lb of...

Over-carbed beer (no bottle bombs though)

I chilled them 3 days. I still have about 7 in the fridge right now, so I guess I'll leave them in there until next weekend. Hopefully that does the trick. If I do have to recap them...how long would I vent for?

Over-carbed beer (no bottle bombs though)

I'm sorry if this is a redundant post. I tried searching the forum for an existing thread with the answers to my questions, but no luck... It looks like I used a little too much priming sugar before bottling, and now my beer is VERY carbonated. Whenever I pour it into a glass, it is about...

    Perfect Brewing Supply's "Ober-Easy" Kit?

Well I bottled last night, and I must say that it did not LOOK like Oberon. It was much darker than I had expected. Hopefully it will TASTE like Oberon in a few weeks.

    Perfect Brewing Supply's "Ober-Easy" Kit?

Thanks for the heads up. I call the store and calculated it for me: OG - 1.052-1.055 FG - 1.012-1.016

    Wheat Beer in Secondary?

I'm brewing a Bell's Oberon clone, so I guess I'll be wanting to go for a "cloudier" beer.

    Wheat Beer in Secondary?

Is there any benefit to me moving my beer to a secondary carboy after fermentation is over? I've seen different opinions and I curious what people on here think. Thanks, Chris

I would like to give some props to Perfect Brewing Supply. I ordered my kit over the weekend, and it was delivered YESTERDAY (wednesday). I'm in Chicago, and apparently they have a distribution point in Wheeling. Talk about top notch!

    Perfect Brewing Supply's "Ober-Easy" Kit?

Has anybody tried the Ober-Easy kit from Perfect Brewing Supply? It is an extract kit for Bells Oberon. I was thinking of picking one of these up, but I wanted to get some feedback first. Thanks in advance. Chris

Thoughts on Brewer's Best "Bold Series" American Nut Brown

"I've become somewhat of a DogFish Head junkie so if there is one that resembles any of their beers I would love to give it a shot." I was talking to my local bartender about their 60 and 90 minute IPAs this weekend. Apparently, their recipe is very involved. Essentially, they make a hops...

    Bottling My First Batch Tonight

"40 bottles, eh? I was feeling almost gypped to get only 49 out of my first batch using Revvy's bottling thread as a go-by, was hoping to squeeze out at least 50. Now I feel better, but also wonder why you're nine bottles behind me, a fellow first-timer" I ended up shorting my batch when I...
