    Micromatic Side Pull Faucet

I’m probably going to order one of these today. Reviews I’ve read have mostly been positive, but I was curious to know how many here have one of these and if they are happy with it. I just don’t think I can justify spending $550 after shipping and an adapter for the Lukr...

Mystery Roadside Hops and Gifted Grains

Alright, this should be fun. I live by and frequent a neighborhood (Winston-Salem, NC) beer bar where a ton of regulars like to hang out. We even have a “lawn guy” that mows the grass and, I **** you not, grows an unsanctioned garden by the roadside. In this garden, there are hops! I’m not sure...

    Infection?

I’ve never had an infection before, but this just doesn’t look right. I posted over on the fermentation forum the other day about having a very thin krausen and no bubbling in my airlock. I found that to be weird as I use an Anvil King Junior and tested for leaks. The attenuation is coming...

    Stalled Fermentation?

I’m a bit puzzled. I’ve been brewing for several years and have never had a stalled fermentation, but I think that is what I’m dealing with here. I pitched yeast Sunday morning. I ferment in this King Junior with a blowoff tube attached and at no point has there been any bubbling. I have...

Cold Crashing in an Anvil King Junior

Does anyone have a suggestion for cold crashing in an Anvil King Junior, or any similar type of plastic pressure fermenter? I’ve tried it once, and because a dunce, I didn’t realize the temperature change would cause it to dent inwards. It didn’t do any permanent damage, but I know it can’t be...

    Did I under pitch?

I’ve been brewing ales for a while, but finally brewed my first lager last weekend. I think I may have under pitched. I pitched 1 packet of Lallemand Diamond Lager to 3 gallons of 1.050 wort. Idk if it matters, but I did use yeast nutrient. Should I pitch another pack?

    Wyeast 3787

Howdy. I’m going on 16 hours since pitching with no signs of fermentation.I shook up my fermenting keg about an hour ago. The packet wasn’t swollen, but I smacked the nutrient pack 2-3 hours before use. I also used yeats nutrient at the end of the boil. Is this normal? Should I pitch more yeast?

    Anvil Foundry Leak

I’m sorry if this is posted in the wrong place, but here goes. I’ve had my Foundry for a couple years now. For some reason, water is leaking out of the bottom, right where the metal meets the rubber bottom. After a bit of reading, I discovered that many people were able to fix this by...

    Homebrewer/….dad?!

I found out this morning that I’m going to be a dad. Looks like my brewing production is going to decrease 😂 How do you dads do it? What am I going to need to know? Should I still snatch the Clawhammer system while it’s 8% off? Should I just go ahead and sell everything?

    First BIAB Attempt

So, my Anvil Foundry has crapped the bed. All it needs is a screen replacement ($35) but I see this as the perfect opportunity to try BIAB. If it goes smoothly, I might just sell the foundry. I bought the Anvil 5.5 Kettle and plan to continue doing 2.5-3 gallon batches. This first attempt with...

    RIP Anvil Foundry

Tried brewing today, but my Anvil Foundry **** the bed. The screen is blue, but no numbers are showing. It seems as if it has some water damage. No idea how. Luckily, Anvil has a replacement screen for $32. Has this happened to anyone else?

    Munich Classic - Hefe

I’m planning on brewing a Hefeweizen in a few weeks. It has been a while since I brewed one. The last time I used 3068, but now I stick to dry yeast exclusively. My question are: 1. Anyone tried this strain for a hefe? I hear it is compatible with 3068. 2. For a 3 gallon batch, should I use...

    Kviek Questions

So, I’m planning on brewing my first attempt with Kviek. My fermentation chamber currently doubles as a kegerator and I already have something on tap. I really want to brew a beer for Easter but do not have a way to control temperature so I figured I may as well try Kviek. questions: I’m...

For Sale Hops - Winston-Salem, NC or mail

I took advantage of the sweet Yakima Valley Hops sale over the holidays, but I've decided brewing IPAs is not for me. These are all pellet hops: 1 lb of unopened 2020 Motueka 6 oz of vacuum sealed 2021 Citra 6 oz of vacuum sealed 2021 Mosaic 6 oz of vacuum sealed 2021 Galaxy I also have a...

    Verdant IPA Yeast

This yeast is a BEAST. I got 81 attenuation fermenting at 69°F (niiiice) for 6 days. Apricot galore on the nose and I have not even dry hopped yet. Anyone else used this yeast?

    Room Temperature Hop Pellets

Like many of you, I took advantage of the great Yakima Valley Hops Black Friday deals. Unfortunately, when they were delivered, my wife and I were out of town (just got home). We have been having our neighbor get our mail, so they are currently at his house. I totally forgot the hops were...

    NEIPA Recipe/Process Critique

This is my first attempt at a NEIPA, so I'd like to ask for some feedback on my recipe and process. This is a 2.5 gallon batch brewed on my Anvil Foundry 6.5. Grist: 70% 2 Row 10% White Wheat 10% Oat Malt 10% Chit Malt Hops: Equal parts of Galaxy, Citra, and Mosaic hopstand at 176° for 20...

    I'm pouring 90% gas, 10% foam...

What is up with this? Here is my set up: I have been using picnic taps since I started kegging and decided to turn my fermentation chamber into a dual-use kegerator. I bought an Intertap faucet and I'm running 6 feet of 3/16 ID beer line to the keg. Last week I was ready to try my first...

Accidentally used Special B instead of Black Patent

So, I brewed a porter and just realized I used Special B instead of Black Patent, which I intended. Here is the grain bill: 63% Pale Malt 12% Munich 8% Chocolate Malt 8% C45 5% Flaked Barley 4% Special B My concern is that this may turn out too sweet. Am I correct to assume this?
