    Noobie Kegger Question

I have a couple questions, as I'm new to kegging and can't readily find answers for them. I just bought a 2 keg system from kegconnection, when I pull the blow off valve, I get a soda smell. My plan is to clean, sanitize, and change out the O-rings. How critical is it to lube the O-rings...

    First Shot at Mead

Ah! It all falls into place now :rockin:. So likely the best thing to do, if I also plan on doing wine is get a wine bucket (7 gallons) and then carboy secondary. Or get a 6 gallon carboy primary and 5 gallon secondary. Thanks for the clarification :). Tyson

    First Shot at Mead

Yeah, I had planned on drinking the first bottle on the first anniversary :). So if I buy a 5 gallon and then a 3 gallon, do you really lose that much mead when you rack? Or do you rack it into 2 smaller carboys? Or is there just a relatively small amount that you just waste. I guess...

    Ski Season is Here

One board. Picked up snowboarding 4 years ago :fro:. Just recently got back from logging 2 days in Snowshoe, WV. Pretty good conditions considering they had a warm spell before we got there. Snowboard for 6-8 hours, then drink it up in the evening. Gooood times. :tank: To top it...

Irish Red Ale Quaffable Irish Red (Extract)

This looks good! I'm going to brew it next. I've been trying to locate/buy all the ingredients, but for the life of me I can't figure out what this stuff is: Caramel Pils Malt Belgium I don't know if there's more stuff there and Promash chopped it off, or if I'm just an idiot and can't...

Just got my first brew kit... Couple of questions

I have a Midwest Basic Kit, and am using a Better Beer Irish Stout recipe kit as my first try and homebrewing. The kit had some grains in it, and had a grain bag along with all the stuff. If you're recipe kit uses grains, it may have the bag in it for you :). Happy Brewing, Tyson
