    3056 Primary Fermentation off smell

So I used 3056 Bavarian Hefe yeast for the first time. I brewed 10 gals of my hefe two days ago and it has taken off like a jet plane, double blow offs and crazy activity in the carboys. That doesn't concern me, thats just cool to watch, but the smell coming off isn't what I am use to. I...

    And I'm Off.....to Portland, OR

So me and SWAMBO are taking a trip out to Portland to visit some friends over the holiday. And Since this is my first time to the west coast (live in PA), was wondering if any one had suggestions on what to drink. I know there are a bunch of beers we can't get over here in the east coast and...

    Is this a craigslist scam?

It's a scam - I was selling my boat on CL and got about 5 of those emails a day. Best way around it is to post your phone number and have people call you, scammers won't call only legit interested people.

    Hefe Low Fermentation Temp

Thanks blackwater, I have it in my upstairs tub which seems to be the warmest part of the house. We'll see if I can warm it up for the next couple of days and we'll see what happens.

    Hefe Low Fermentation Temp

So I decided to Brew DubbleDach's Orange Honey Hefe - modified a little to suite me - and decided to go with Wyeast 3056 instead of WLP300 since I didn't have time to make a starter. Any way my real question is, since I keep my house so feakin cold my hefe is fermenting between 62 and 64. This...

First AG Batch - Grain Bill ?

Thanks Guys for the input! I'll follow up with my experience and let you know how everything goes. As for the toasted grains, as I thought about it a little more, Why not brew it this way and then later on brew it with the toasted grains! Thanks again

First AG Batch - Grain Bill ?

So I'm about to tackle my first AG next weekend and decided to do a clone, so I taste mine against the real thing to see how well I did.
