    Are my hops toast?

    I'd say you're fine.. My LHBS has their hops hanging on the wall unrefrigerated. I've never had a problem with them.

    Thanks for the replies! I did the recipe as follows.. 4lb extra light DME 1lb dark DME 1oz kent goldings 60 minutes .5oz kent goldings 15 minutes Nottingham Ale yeast. OG of 1.045 Hopefully a tasty product will result.

    Funky Smell

    Ok so my cider that I have cold crashing currently has a funky smell to it.. Similar to the rhino farts people talk about.. My question is this.. Will the funk go away as the yeast falls out? Thanks.

    How Long till Cider?

    It is possible to have a tasty cider in 2 -3 weeks. From what I gathered from the advice I have received is that if you let the cider ferment all the way out, it will be good in about 6 months. But if you stop the fermentation at around 1.010, It will be good in 2 - 3 weeks.

    Flavor question?

    I have a hard apple cider currently cold crashing. I was wondering if it would be ok to add a couple cans of apple concentrate to help bring back some of the apple flavor? Thanks.
