Hate to do it but...another help me with my water profile thread! :-)

I've been doing some research on water profiles until I am dizzy with it. Long story short I need some input on my Wards Labs water analysis report. Do I need to add a little gypsum and if so, how much and when do I add it? I recently got back into brewing and purchased a High Gravity BIAB...

Plugged Corny Kegs - need opinions.

Hate to start a new thread just for this but I have 2 Five gallon ball lock kegs that are stuck. So far this is what I have tried and what I got to work (hopefully): 1. Blew CO2 back thru the liquid out post. Flows about 1 second and clogs completely. Tried several times, both kegs. 2...

I have 2 NSF Cornelius Kegs for sale. I purchased these new. Have too many kegs and am selling to clear some space. Always cleaned after use, sanitized and sealed until next use. There is a mark on each with a paint pen just for keeping tabs of what lid goes with what keg. Can be cleaned off...

    Way too high mash temp...thoughts?

I just received a new BIAB grain basket and wanted to give it a try. I wasn't sure how many gallons of strike water I could add with my 22 pounds of grain in the basket. I heated 8 gallons of water to 185º and transferred to a cooler for sparging. I kettle with the 5 gallons strike water. I...

    PID help please

I did a search for PID in the titles but found nothing so thought I would ask here and hope some folks are on the forum today that can help me. I "think" I am in automatic mode. Set temp on the PID 2352 is 150. Strike temp went to 150 and held. Then went to 155F then came back to 150...

5500w ULD element taking too long to heat

I have a 5500w uld element in my boil kettle with 7 gallons of water. PID is a 2352 from Auberin. RTD is a Pt100 RTD Sn set to 21. Set the controller to 165 to simulate strike water for my mash. It has been 50 minutes and it just hit 145. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    When To Drink an IPA?

I have been on an IPA kick for almost a year now. I have always tried to keep a pipeline going so that I am able to condition my beers in the kegs for at least two months before they hit the tap. However, recently I ran out (first time in 4 1/2 years of brewing)!! Once I got my next brew...

Need help trying to decipher Hefeweizen flavor.

I brewed 2 beers recently. I will list the recipes with notes below. They both came out with a Hefeweizen flavor (best way I can describe it). I'm not big into that taste, but I have mustered thru one 5 gallon batch and just tapped the other. At first I thought it might have been the new RIMS...

    My new Beer Line Cleaner...

Just a simple pump up hand sprayer from Lowes. I removed the original spray nozzle and added this liquid out post. My other post wouldn't thread on at all without forcing. This one threaded on about 1-2 threads on its own. I then used a deep well socket to "guide" it the rest of the way (cut new...
