    Those bastards!! Uh, maybe not.

UPS will also hand off a package to anyone who says it's for them -- as I learned when some #$@! swiped my ATM card number and ordered a bunch of stuff from QVC (including a video camera) and then waited in front of my apartment building for UPS to show up. According to the delivery records this...

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. My condolences.

Will airsoft kill a field mouse and not hurt my house?

This works like a charm... What's the best way to get rid of rats? Rat Zapper!

    your first beer.

My older brother and I snagged a Molson from a construction site (at least I THINK it was beer) when I was 9. I thought it tasted like s**t. I didn't have a beer I liked until I tried Dinkelacker from a mini-keg when I was 12 or 13 (haven't had it since; for all I know it sucks).

Heineken to close 210 year old Beamish Brewery

No need to be surprised, I actually posted this a few days ago but my headline was weak: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f5/another-reason-hate-heineken-92049/

    Another reason to hate Heineken...

Heineken to shut Beamish brewery in Ireland By SHAWN POGATCHNIK DUBLIN, Ireland (AP) — Dutch brewing giant Heineken NV announced Thursday it is closing one of Ireland's oldest breweries, Beamish & Crawford in the city of Cork, just weeks after taking control of the operation. Heineken...

    Lars Frederiksen and the bastards!

Ha! You too, huh? Hippies wear f-ing Birkenstocks -- these are combat boots! Yeah, all that that was a long time ago, before I thought about things like chronic tinnitus and hearing loss...

    Lars Frederiksen and the bastards!

+1 to edge and message... no hippie shiite... (High school in '86! Man it's weird to get older...)

    Lars Frederiksen and the bastards!

I forgot to add Minor Threat. I'm with you 100%. When we were bleeding at shows in the early- to mid-80's loud, fast, and angry pretty much did it... But mostly it was attitude/worldview, and "punk" isn't a hard-and-fast category, it's just something you know when you hear it. Johnny Cash...

    Lars Frederiksen and the bastards!

All of the above. Plus... The Pogues Husker Du (before they sucked) EDIT: Descendents Black Flag Big Black

Do you groom your man bits?

Hell... no. Mountain man all the way. Lucky for me SWMBO doesn't like bald bits. I do, however, have to use a weed-eater on my eyebrows or I'd grow a visor.

does being a good cook make you a better brewer?

+1 to this. I should have added that I'm a much better cook than I ever was a baker, and my brewing has suffered accordingly.

does being a good cook make you a better brewer?

I've worked as both a cook and a baker, and brewing reminds me more of baking. You're dealing with yeast and fermentation, for one thing, and you've also got to keep a close eye on measurements, time and temperature to get a desired result. I don't know how much being good at one translates to...

    First Batch

TB American Wheat was my first beer too. (Only about 15 months ago but it seems longer.) I pitched my yeast at 90 degrees, took no gravity readings whatsoever, and bottled after 7 days -- and in spite of all that it turned out okay. Not to worry, yours looks fine. It just wants to be left alone...

    Best part of fall

Sounds awesome... Even more so because you're drinking it in the 'Snake, one of my favorite mt. biking/hiking/snowshoeing places in the world.

What advice would you have for yourself back when you started out?

I'd say, "Self, this is going to take a lot longer than you think, so start early." I think I began my first batch around 9:00 at night. Got to bed around 3:00. It's amazing what a mess you can make. And wort can take a LONG time to cool if you don't prepare. And the longer everything takes, the...

    Wow...bottling alone sux!!!

I'm a lone bottler and always have been, but I have my system down and it only takes a couple of hours, max. I don't mind it much because it brings me one big step closer to opening the bottles back up and drinking what's inside... +1 on bigger bottles!

    Easy Labels to Remove!

The English must be pro-homebrewer because Bass and Samuel Smith's are two of the easiest labels to remove.
