    Hop replacements

    I was reading an interesting article recently about pre-reinheitsgebot beers, and how there used to be many different bittering/preserving herbs besides hops, but only dandelions were listed. Has anyone used something besides hops with any success? Thanks! -BK

    Kennett Brewfest - does anyone have any tricks/suggestions?

    I just got my ticket to Kennett Brewfest ( http://www.kennettbrewfest.com/ ) in PA after missing the boat last year (apparently tickets go fast), and i was wondering if anyone out there has been there before. Is there anything that I can't miss? Anything that runs out early? Any veteran tricks...

    Do i need to let the pressure out when brewing in a temp controlled deep freeze?

    Hello all, I recently upgraded to a temp controlled deep freeze to brew in. Do i need to release the built up CO2 when brewing? Can it slow/stop the fermentation if the CO2 builds up too much? Is this just me being paranoid? Thanks! -BK

    I'm getting a soapy taste after primary...

    After switching to the secondary fermenter, i tested the SG of a sample that was left in the tube of my siphon. After getting the reading i took a taste of the beer, and it had a soapy taste to it. Is this a common problem? Is this something that I should be worried about? Did i mess something...
