Any difference in aginging in bottles vs fermenter, if it is getting 5 weeks total does it matter if it is 3 in bottles vs 2 in bottles and an extra in fermenter, choc stout specifically in question here.

    Ale Vs. Lager yeast

    Volume change

My friend had an issue with his first batch, all he has is a 5 gal carboy and he lost alot of volume to blow off... His PLAN is to cook his 5 gallon extract kit like normal, but only fill to 4 gallons, pitch yeast, ferment, then add the last gallon of water in his bottling bucket. My...

So now that I am a daddy free time to brew is at a premium, I gotta use it when I get it.... I was able to pick up 2 old carboys and those with my 2 ale pales should get me a good start point. My plan is to brew 2 at a time if possible to be efficient and then if I need them I have 2...

    How long do i refrigerate

I SWEAR i read somewhere on here that bottled homebrew should spent 48 hours in the cooler prior to drinking, something to do with colder fluids being able to carbonate better.. Am i crazy or is this true?
