    Grain mill

I use a corona mill (as you show above) and it works great! My hulls are virtually all intact and I get a good crush every time. Takes about 5 minutes to mill grain for a 5 gallon batch using an electric drill to drive the mill. I do BIAB. I followed this instructable: Corona Mill Mods for All...

    Why Drop Temperature Slowly?

My process for lagers includes dropping the temperature as quickly as possible. I ferment at 50F until the krausen has fallen and things are slowing quite a bit (1 week or so. I then move the fermenter to my basement (ambient about 65F) and let the fermentation finish (2-3 more weeks). This is...

Shipping From Canada For AHA/BJCP Sanctioned Competitions

The answer to your question is complicated (or at least nuanced)... It is illegal according to US federal law to ship alcoholic beverages via the United States Postal Service. According to the terms of service of UPS and Fedex, alcoholic beverages may only be shipped from a licensed (to...

    Kegging question

I'm lazy and like to brew lagers. After transferring from fermenter to keg, I set the keg for 12 psi at 35 degrees for a month or six weeks. The result is bright, effervescent beer! My ales don't seem to mind this process either (for them, I limit the time to 2 weeks). This process is also...

Banana wine in primary smells like sulphur

Boil a teaspoon of bakers yeast in 1/4 cup of water for a few minutes to sanitize. Then mix the (now dead but able to provide yummy yeast nutrients) slurry with your must.
