    20L crystal malt?

It's not a special order as such, just another sort they keep out the back that you have to ask for because there isn't shelf space for everything. But from your address I'm guessing you don't shop there in person anyway...

    Hobgoblin clone?

If you want to be truly, pedantically accurate, it's Styrian Goldings rather than East Kent Goldings, from the Wychwood website: "Head Brewer, Jeremy Moss, has produced a full chocolate malt flavour beer by the addition of a small proportion of crystal malt and the use of Fuggles hops blended...

    Liquorice

Anyone brewed with liquorice? I'm making a liquorice stout, and I've got some 6" pieces of liquorice root to put in the brew. If anyone has used this, any ideas of how many of them I should use? (7 US gallon brew by the way, OG should be 1.060-ish, about 60 IBUs)

    Full volume extract boil

I did this over Christmas, and yep, it only cost about a tenner for the pipe. As for the 8mm-15mm expansion joint, (the two inches of 15mm pipe was lying around, so free), the screw attachment for the 15mm pipe, the outdoor tap head to screw onto it, and the hose attachment to fit to the tap...

    Indoor boiling alternatives?

How big is your pot for brewing? The one I've got is 36cm diameter (that's about one foot two inches or thereabouts), and happily straddles all four rings of my standard electric cooker. Indeed, it's the only way to fit it on there! That boils 7 gallons fine if you whack all the rings on full...

    Spicey winter ale

Hello there. I have just successfully brewed my first batch of homebrew. And it tastes good! I went with a box set the first time (a decent one, not a cheap skanky one mind you), but for my second attempt I'd like to try concocting a brew of my own. I was hoping some of you very helpful gents...

Never had a good Asian beer

When visiting China on a gap year, I took a liking to the Yanjing beer there. Admittedly I hadn't tasted proper (i.e. English :p ) beer for a while at that point. I haven't been able to find it since getting back, even the chinese supermarkets only seem to sell Tsingtao, so haven't been able...

    Immersion chiller set-up

Firstly, please forgive me if this is too much of a newbie question. I am just getting into brewing at home, the first attempts have gone smoothly, with the only annoying or difficult bit of the process being waiting for over five gallons (six US gallons) of wort to cool down to a reasonable...
