How much lemongrass in a wheat beer?

I am brewing the AHS Lemongrass Wheat tomorrow. The kit comes with 1 oz dried lemongrass and instruction say to add at flameout. I plan on adding them in a hop bag at flameout, cooling the wort, and leaving in the fermenter for about a week since I don't do secondaries. I will post the...

    My Water Report

I get my brew water from Lawton, Oklahoma. This is the basic water analysis information from their website and reports. Any one care to take a look at my water profile and give any advice on what exactly I should do to improve it. I brew mainly pale ales, wheat ales, and the occasional IPA...

    Fruit Beer Lemon-Lime Hefe Weizen

Added my limeade today after the bubbling slowed, day two of fermentation. I will have to say, I'm excited for this to finish, but the fermentation smells like serious Rhino fart! I have not had a brew that gives off this much sulfur.

    Fruit Beer Lemon-Lime Hefe Weizen

Brewed this today using ingredients from original post. Smells amazing, can't wait to taste this! I used a 2.5 liter starter and it took off like a banshee within hours. I plan on adding the limeade on day two or three as the bubbling slows down. I ended up with 5.25 gallons and OG 1.60 into...

Help with first All Grain IPA recipe

Maybe I should bump it up to 154-156. Right in the middle range between the "Anglo" and "Saxon" temps! If i bump it up, will the 2-4 degree difference between 154-156 and my usual 152 be that noticeable?

Help with first All Grain IPA recipe

Thanks, this will lower the IBUs but give more aroma and flavor right? Love it! :mug: KISS! (Keep It Simple Stupid!), one of my favorite grains along with one of my favorite hops! Ordering 1lb carastan would be easier, so I may just go that route. I was kinda shooting for an...

Just bottled this today and it tastes great. :rockin: I have never had a real DFH ale because I cannot get them here in Oklahoma, but if I did, this surely would be better because I made it! Thanks Yooper for the recipe! I can't wait for it to get carbed up. Need to get my hands on some more...

I havent made a Hibiscus Saison but I have made a Lavender Saison and a Hibiscus Wit. It was a Honey Hibiscus Wit, I can send the recipe for either one if you are interested. I used 6 oz hibiscus and added at 15 minutes left in boil. I only noticed a small amount of hibiscus flavor in the...

American IPA Dogfish Head 60 Minute Clone (AG) & Extract

All done brewing this. OG ended up a bit short at 1.063, BeerSmith2 estimated 1.066. My efficiency was around 69% for this brew which is the same as my first AG. Everything seemed to work out pretty smooth. The continuous hopping kept me busy during the boil. I was not able to sanitize and...

Just finished with my mash and heating wort to boil. Temps and volumes were right on, preboil SG was 1.047. Here is a photo of the wort with my new spider and the anxious pacman waiting to attack the wort. I'm excited about this one.

    Stepping Up a Yeast Starter

This is my first time stepping up a starter. I started with a 2L starter and stepping up with a 3L starter next. My question is after I decant the 2L starter can I just pour the boiled and cooled 3L starter right on top of the yeast cake from the decanted 2L starter or do I need to use a new...

    8 vials of yeast???

That calculator rocks! :rockin: So I should start with a 2L starter and step up to a 3L starter then I should end up with 267 billion cells, correct? Not my first starter by any means, but first time stepping up. Seems simple enough, just begin with normal 2L starter with yeast vial, let...
