To those who have added an all-in-one as a *second* brew system...

I have both a Robobrew (110V) and a Brewie and ever since going to all-in-one systems, my outdoor equipment is pretty much obsolete for me. There's a lot of debate out there about brewing systems and blah blah blah...my philosophy is get whatever you want and you'll figure out what works best...

    Brewie

Yea I totally see your point with the early backers. I'd be pretty pissed off too. What I guess should have happened was get a few dozen of these machines in the hands of some brewers outside of the Brewie bubble at a reduced cost and put them to work for some real life data vs in-house lab...

    Brewie

Haha nice try? I don't work for Brewie nor am I trying to sell you one. You have obviously made up your mind about it and I respect your position. I perhaps missed those advertisements because I only invested in one recently. I'm guessing that messaging came out back in 2016...so yea, I did miss...

    Brewie

I think that was perhaps the thought for their Brewie Pads. I've never once used a Brewie Pad pre-packaged recipe. I imagine it was pretty frustrating in the very beginning. It was marketed as sort of a plug and play type machine, I won't argue with you there. But that was never their only...

    Brewie

The convenience of having the brewing process complete overnight is a luxury for me. I'm sure as most do, I have 2 kids and evenings are usually an all-hands-on-deck kind of adventure. So technically I don't "need" to brew overnight, but it sure is one hell of a convenience. As for the comment...

    Brewie

Hahahaha we most def are! I just always seem to find a way to sound like an ******* when typing so I figured I'd try and set the tone lol. Can't wait to hear how it goes with the Brewie Basket. I would really like to pull the trig on one too.

    Brewie

Not to be argumentative, but to add my perspective...I’ve been home brewing for about 5 years now. I’ve done everything from full/partial extract on the stove, to BIAB, to traditional brewing, to brewing with my Grainfather and most recently with my Brewie. At first, the Brewie was pretty...

    IPA recipe help!

So I brewed lastnight and I used your advice. Held the temp at 150F for 30min post 60min boil. The muslin bag I had for the hops was large so it worked well. Circulated the wort the entire time. It smelled so delicious! As for this Hornindal Kveik...absolutely unbelievable! Fermenting at a...

    IPA recipe help!

Awesome! Thanks for all that. Definitely will try what you suggested above. I think I will muslin bag the hops given the quantity so it doesn't clog my pump after its done and I pump it out to my fermenter.

    What are you drinking now?

    Delish!

    IPA recipe help!

Actually I just checked my heat belt, and the directions say it can get up to 80F so based on your experiences, that may be desirable for me. Thanks so much for this!

    IPA recipe help!

Ok, I'll stop by chilling process at 150F and drop the 3oz in for about 30min as you suggested. Would you then just continue chilling until my desired pitch temp or have you ever experimented just letting the hops whirlpool until pitch temp? (which for me will be around 85-90F I guess with this...

    IPA recipe help!

So, I'll start with what I'm trying to accomplish and I'm looking for all opinions on what to change about my intended recipe/method to achieve it. I'm trying to brew an IPA that is medium bodied, that is moderately bitter, that explodes with flavor and aroma and has a session-type ABV...now...

    Off-flavors with S-04/English ales

I thought so as well but I literally just upgraded my brewing system to brand new as well as brand new fermenters. All soaked in star san. The 2 brews I did with the new equipment I used s-04 in so the jury is still out on whether it was the yeast or equipment. Nonetheless, I'll soon know...

    Off-flavors with S-04/English ales

I should also mention I just installed an inline water filter and use campden tablets for the water I use while brewing. I hoping this, in combination with using different yeast from here on out, will fix my issue for good!

    Off-flavors with S-04/English ales

Ok, FINALLY I have found a post of someone having the same issue as me. Regardless of anything I have tried to avoid this issue it keeps popping up and I’ve also come to the same conclusion...S-04 and S-05 have pretty much been the only yeasts I have used and it happens each and every time I use...

    Fermaid K (in beer)

Hahaha some great advice to follow as well...the best ingredient for beer making is time! I'll probably just leave it be.

    Fermaid K (in beer)

Thanks so much! I'll try that!

I should also mention that temp is at a steady 67F and in a dark room
