    ICEMASTER MAX 2

Wow thanks for the detailed run through. Very annoying this product is so poorly constructed. MoreBeer really needs to address this issue.

    ICEMASTER MAX 2

This makes me feel better about getting the issue resolved. My conversation with customer support today also made me feel better too. I agree 600 dollars isn’t chump change and I think a product that is this expensive should work as advertised upon arrival. I’m going to check my connections...

    ICEMASTER MAX 2

Thanks for the reply. I’m getting a similar type leak. I’ll have to check all my connections. I don’t think I’ll get around to that until after the holidays. I guess I’ll find out how a Pilsner taste fermented with 34/70 at room temp due to this issue.

    ICEMASTER MAX 2

How bad was your leak? Recently purchased an IceMaster Max 2 and liquid kept dripping from the bottom two front corners. It’s seems too much too be condensation but I wanted make sure I’m not over reacting.

    Milk Stout without Chocolate Malt

Yeah after reading more I think I will want the chocolate malt. I have thought of a creative solution. There is a brewery in town and I am going to see if I can buy a pound of chocolate malt off them. Has anyone ever tried to do that before? I feel like it can't hurt to ask.

    Milk Stout without Chocolate Malt

I am preparing to brew a batch of a Left Hand Milk Stout Clone. The grain bill calls for 12oz of chocolate malt but I just realized my LHBS didn't put any chocolate malt in my grain bag. Unfortunately, I am at my parents house for the holidays and the closest LHBS is 30 minutes away. Should I...

    Tennessee Free Bottles

I recently switched to kegging so I have quite a few bottles I would like to give away. I live in the Nashville area is anyone is interested.

    New Hop Combos

Just wanted to give an update. I tasted some hydrometer samples last night and I am really liking my Sabro and Strata hop combo. Lots of tropical fruit without being overbearing, I think the Strata is helping balance out Sabro. I dry hopped the beer with 1 oz Sabro and 2 oz Strata, will keg...

    New Hop Combos

I have never heard of Ariana or Calista. Where did you get those from?

    New Hop Combos

This is what I read as well, and despite that I used it at 33% of the hop bill. It smelled so good fresh out the bag I couldn't resist. I have tasted the wort it does have an interesting mint sensation on the back of the palate, hopefully it doesn't become overbearing.

    New Hop Combos

I'm relieved to hear that about Strata. I still have some left so hopefully I can put it to good use. Maybe single hopped beer to see what it brings to the table alone.

    New Hop Combos

I wanted to start a thread about new hop combos. I purchased Bru-1, Sabro, and Strata recently and was having trouble finding hop combos that had been done with these hops, other than the NEIPA Galaxy, Citra, and Mosaic combos. I brewed an APA this week with Sabro and Strata. I heard Sabro has...

    Oatmeal Stout Woes

Update: I unbottled the beer, added amylase and repitched a sachet of US-05 yeast and let sit for two weeks. I took an FG reading again and 1.032, just as before. I figured fermentation must be done and bottled the beer. I'm going to let it carb up and see if it tastes any good but at 3.8% abv i...

    Oatmeal Stout Woes

Absolutely could be a factor, I ordered a ThermaPen so I can be more confident in my mash temps. Thanks for the advice!

    Oatmeal Stout Woes

@North_of_60 Thanks for the insight with your experience. I suppose to save this batch and prevent potential bottle bombs I will give it another go. @rhys333 Yeah, it might be worth checking in on, I assumed mine was chugging away slowly as well but it appears it was not... Also should I...

    Oatmeal Stout Woes

Thanks for the link for the amylase enzyme, wish I would have known about that before I bottled my beer. The problem I am faced with now is should I pour all my beer back into a fermenter and treat with amylase enzyme or is there no saving this beer?

    Oatmeal Stout Woes

I tried to brew Yooper's Oatmeal Stout which went fine until the fermentation process. The batch came through the brewing process with an OG 1.056, a little high but I also only collected 4.5g on a 5.0g batch. I pitched rehydrated US-05, as I always do, but this time I added yeast nutrient and...

    Overly Foamy Beers

I recently went through a case of old (1-2 years) homebrews to see how they had been holding up to age. Almost every single beer was too foamy when poured, some were clearly over carbed, but others appeared fine until they were poured into a glass at which point they became mostly head. I have...

Thoughts on putting yeast in fermenter first then pouring wort on top of it

I wouldn't worry about stirring the yeast after it is pitched. Whether you agitate the yeast or not shouldn't make a difference as long as the wort is aerated prior to pitching. That being said, traditionally the beer is not agitated after the yeast is pitched. Adding the wort on top of the...

One Thing After Another (First Time AG Woes)

I like the idea of a single water addition to the mash tun, and since I mostly do 1.5-2g batches with a 10g mash tun there will be plenty of room for this. Now to figure out how to set that up on BeerSmith so I can attempt to hit my mash temps. Thanks for the advice.:mug:
