    Thanks for connecting, szajsiwo. Interesting experience. Yes, when I tested a few bottles, before pasteurizing à la stove-top method, it tasted really, really good. I'm not an expert taster, so I can't really describe the taste using the right terms... It did have a slight yeasty aftertaste...

    Hi, just adding my 2 cents.... I ordered from beergrains.com recently... first time for me. 1 pack of S-04, 72 swing-top bottles and 2 lbs of dextrose (they are in Toronto, I'm in Gatineau, QC, basically Ottawa). I got it NEXT DAY! $33.58 shipping. (But 72 swing-top bottles!!!). Pretty amazing.

    Yeast Starter Question

    I started a new cider batch 2 days ago, ejcrist, with S-04. While I'm no expert, I can attest to the fact my batch "started" noticeably fermenting within 12 hrs (bubbles in airlock, foaming action, activity in the must). Here's what I did for 1 pack of S-04 in 6.5 gallons of juiced apples...
