Mash Caps... Let me see what you got!

@DonT any update on if yours floats or not? I'm looking at a similar set up. Thanks.

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

Thanks I'll look into this. Any recommendations for varistor (MOV) values, and do I need to change the R/C values for 240V?

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

I've got a strange problem that I think may be a grounding issue. Each time I turn off something that is using 240V (i.e. pump) my PC monitor (same circuit) briefly turns off then on, as does BruControl. All my temp sensors reset etc. I've followed the recommended wiring in the BruControl...

Show me your BruControl graphic interface.

I've just managed to get BruControl working and am looking in the future to add a custom graphic behind all the in/out and data. Please show me your designs so I can steal some ideas!

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

My SSRs seem to not be getting continuity on the live side when switched. They have solid 4.8V from the Arduino when switched on from BruControl. Any suggestions?

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

Thank you. Had soldered the amplifiers for 3wire but hadn't cut the traces. Even then, after much swapping and testing 2 out of 3 boards appear to be duds. Got one working and showing temperature correctly so am very happy about that. Will order some more amplifier boards. Too bad they aren't...

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

Hi All, new user of BruControl here with a couple of pics of my nearly finished setup and a question. I've recently installed BruControl after previously using CBPi and NodeRed. I've got an issue with my RTD sensors not showing up any temperature values. I've added the SPI Sensor with the...

No hose change on 3V2P- P&ID review

Most people have hoses as that is the easiest way to begin (or stay if you want). Silicone hoses are flexible, multi-use and and cheap. They can have a variety of disconnect fittings attached too. As I am only just starting to go no hose change, most of the silicone hoses will remain until I've...

No hose change on 3V2P- P&ID review

I've decided I will go this route, with the 4 3-way ball valves. Haven't ordered them yet, and unfortunately it'll take about a month for them to arrive off AliExpress. Still need to work out all the other fittings I'll need to complete it, since there will be a couple of extra hoses etc.

No hose change on 3V2P- P&ID review

Awesome, thanks for the response. I agree that there is an extra 3 way valve, and the reason I put it in there was exactly what you said, to try to minimise that dead pipe space. I probably will keep it in there. I'm planning on adding a steam condenser too, so our set ups will be very similar!

No hose change on 3V2P- P&ID review

Greetings, Looking to go to a no hose change set up, just for the sake of it and to help out when I am brewing with other people. This may also be a trial run for a full hard plumbed system later down the track. Could anyone with experience chime in to see if what I am proposing would work...

Any chance you'd be able to share a picture of this please? I'm considering something similar. Cheers.

    DIY Glycol Chiller Build

Awesome. I think I'll try find the biggest cooler I can find. Annoying about the rust, but I guess there isn't too much you can do about that.

    DIY Glycol Chiller Build

Thanks for the advice. Just running water would save a bit of cash, rather than buying a couple of gallons of glycol.

    DIY Glycol Chiller Build

Awesome, thanks for the tips. I was looking at aquarium pumps on Aliexpress. I use 25W magnetic pumps in my brewery that are plenty strong enough, so I think I will be able to find some lower powered ones that will do the job. The fermenters (fermzilla) I am looking at do have an insulation...

    DIY Glycol Chiller Build

Managed to very carefully bend the HEX down lower. I did try to have the cooler up top, but I'd rather the whole thing be lower and have a bigger footprint.

    DIY Glycol Chiller Build

Hi All, I've been fermenting in a temperature controlled fridge for about 6 years now. I've recently upgraded my brewery into a 40L (10G) 3 vessel HERMs. I often end up splitting the batch into 2 x 20L using different yeasts etc. Although I can fit 2 plastic fermenters in the fridge, I cannot...

    Making a unitank

Yeah I've been researching it a little bit and can see that the cost of a quality stainless steel welder's time is quite high. My workmate and I are (teachers in Christchurch) are always thinking about different career paths and that would be an awesome one for NZ. Considering that SS Brewtech...

    Making a unitank

Man this is awesome. I'm in NZ too and really disappointed about the lack of pressure fermenter options we have here. Sadly the SS Brewtech Chronicals are not rated for pressure. Can't get Spike here either as their options look decent. No other good stainless options really. Wishing I knew how...

Craft Beer Pi won't turn off element

Had this problem on my last brew. Mash got to 83 degrees before I checked on it (was easting breakfast!) Unfortunately I don't have the answer. I'm moving away from CBPi though. Too many issues.
