Cloning HopHands by Tired Hands Brewing Company

Just wanted to thank the original poster for this recipe. I've adapted this recipe and it is now our house IPA. The modifications are minimal: WYeast - London Ale III 9lb. - America 2-row Pale 2lb. - Flaked Oats 0.5oz - Columbus (60min) 1.0oz - Centennial (Flameout) 1.0oz - Amarillo...

    Beer near Wildwood, NJ

Kane Head High or Carton Boat are the best. Forgotten Boardwalk Funnel Cake is unique and worth a taste if it's on nitro. If you are anywhere near Cape May Brewery or Three 3's, they are also good. Enjoy diry jer-z.

Worst Commercial Beer You've Ever Had?

I had the hoppy blonde and it too was reminiscent of feet. I was not pleased.

    Favorite Board Games

My brew team has been playing Pandemic (original version) on brew days recently. It is a frustratingly difficult co-op and I think we've only beaten it 3-4 times. I love that; who wants to win every time? I believe they've nerfed it up so it's a little easier these days. Lame.

Games you like to play when drinking (not drinking games!)

Cribbage is probably my absolute go-to.

    Disc Golf

South Jersey barely has anything but I often make it out to Stafford Woods, New Brooklyn, Sedgely Woods, Tyler State Park, and a smattering of Delaware courses like Iron Hill. Not so good at putting but I got a mean 'swing'.

My latest batch of this turned out really great this time. I'm still missing out by not kegging though. A lot of mouthfeel and taste is being sacrificed to bottle conditioning. Keezer project coming soon but this is definitely going to be a house beer. :mug:

    Favorite Board Games

Yeah, Deck-building games are self-contained, not like a CCG. Dominion and the DC Deckbuilders are my favorites but the Street Fighter, Lord of the Rings, and Marvel deck-building games are pretty fun. I also play casual Magic the Gathering so every so often, brew day turns into EDH day.

    Favorite Board Games

Brew day is usually game day as well. My favorites are: Settler of Catan (w Cities & Knights) Carcassonne Ticket to Ride Dominion DC Deck Builder and Cribbage

British Brown Ale Nut Brown AG

I used the OP recipe. Letting this one chill out in secondary right now and might bottle after a month. Really looking forward to this one.

    HBT Musicians

Ummm are you my dad? You literally just described my dad. He also plays Flugel Horn for an English Brass band. What corps are you with?

    HBT Musicians

Piano and Guitar for me. I play classical piano for fun, gospel piano for church, rhythm guitar for a swing band, and lead guitar for a death metal band. Used to sing for a barbershop quartet too. Can't make this stuff up. Good times!

A beer style that introduced you to craft beer, and now you can't stand?

Raging ***** for me. I can't really do "Belgian IPAs" anymore.

BrewDog Brewing releases entire recipe catalog

Kind of a newbie question but they say that their sours are "kettle soured". Is that a sour mash technique or a sour wort? Is that pre-boil? Just curious as I haven't really seen it phrased that way.

BrewDog Brewing releases entire recipe catalog

Not too much proof-reading either. Noticed a few recipes missing ingredients or with the wrong amounts of malts (mostly from a kg.-lb. conversion). Not looking a gift-horse in the mouth, though. This is fantastic.

Is this the worst beer ever sold???

Oh man, good call. That was revolting and it just sat on the shelves forever. Cisco's Rumple Drumkin was really gross too. Tasted like WD-40 and rubber tire.

Yes. The roots should be left alone for the most part.

I didn't get flowers my first year either. That's pretty normal for most hops. They need a year to get themselves rooted. Did you cut the bine down to the nub at the end of the season? If not, I would do that pronto. As far as soil, almost everyone swears by legit manure. In the...
