anyone find a replacement basket for 10 gal clawhammer

Did you ever figure this out? I went with a basket purchased from Amazon and then drilled through the feet and added stainless flat-head machine screws with jam nuts to get the height that I wanted.

Hop aroma retention (or lack thereof) with pressure fermentation and transfer.

OP, were you ever able to sort this out? I just started recapturing CO2 during fermentation and noticed that my samples straight out of the fermenter have been amazing, but are somewhat muted in the keg - even using closed pressure transfers.

First Batch in Years - What Needs Replaced?

Life got in the way of my hobby - I built a nice eBIAB setup about 5 years ago, and only made two batches on it before buying a house. Enough said... I did get the system "set up" in my garage about two years ago, and brought a "batch" of water up to temp before flushing out all my hoses and...

    Chewy Stout Feedback

It's hard to get a picture of what I am describing. I am actually going to rebrew this. I am going to remove the Munich and the flaked rye, and mash 2 degrees higher. I wonder if there is just a little too many grains that muddy the flavor. Maybe I will alter the roasted grains as well.

    Chewy Stout Feedback

Hi, I'm looking for some feedback on a stout I tried to formulate. I tried to make it full-bodied, which was successful, but this is the second stout I have brewed that ends up being a little too "brown", both in color and in flavor. I feel like this brew is very chocolatey, with maybe a little...

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

Pardon me asking, but why is bad to have an unknown pressure drop? The hose is certainly fine seeing an increase in pressure.

    Wood Brew Stand Top

The 80/20 legs are 26". After adding leveling feet and the wood top, the kettle sits about 28" off the floor.

    Wood Brew Stand Top

I made the stand such that the legs ran from the floor directly to the underside of the wooden top. Extrusion is made such that you can tap screw threads into the ends. I just drilled 4 holes in the wood, countersunk them, and used 5/16"-18 stainless flat-head screws to connect them into the...

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

In my defense, I did say that. 1% for a 3.5gal boil 10% or maybe slightly less for a 5.5gal boil

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

It indeed is possible. If I have a 5-6gal boil, I can maintain a rolling boil with only one element on at 10-12% That doesn't mean that I don't need more power to get it to a boil, but it doesn't take much to maintain it.

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

I had a 3.5gal boil going the other day using this, and it totally reduced the amount of heat I needed to maintain a boil. I have 2ea 1500W elements, and even with one turned off, I was able to maintain a boil with the EZBoil set to 1% power in boil mode.

Boil kettle condenser - no overhead ventilation needed

What kind of boil-off rates are people typically seeing with this thing? FWIW, I just started using the Steam Slayer from Bobby at Brew Hardware. I believe I have the 9gph nozzle, but I throttle the flow rate way back because of the water pressure I am seeing.

    Danby Drain Removal

Has anyone removed the little drain fitting from their Danby to fit a CO2 line so that they can run their CO2 from outside the kegerator? It looks like it may be glued in their, and it may have a rubber piece that waterproofs it. I didn't want to hack away at it without asking. Thanks

    Stout Feedback

I am about to take my new eBIAB setup for a spin this weekend. I am planning on a stout that will serve as a starter for an RIS. I love really chewy stouts, not thin and highly carbonated stouts. Although I'm not shooting for some super high ABV beer, I want a similar appearance and mouthfeel of...

Just finished my dual-element electric BIAB setup

I should also mention what I consider to be the most utilitarian part of my setup. That top TC port is the connection point for three different devices during the brew day. First, I have a LocLine recirculation return with a camlock fitting for the mash. Then I remove that for the boil, and use...

Just finished my dual-element electric BIAB setup

I just use it to select which loop returns liquid to the kettle, because my CFC restricts the flow so much. But I agree with you, two check valves would serve the same purpose and you wouldn't have to turn another valve.

Just finished my dual-element electric BIAB setup

I bought almost everything from Bobby at Brewhardware, with the exception of the whirlpool arm and heating elements. The elements are the Denord 1500W stainless elements that you can find on Amazon. They have a 1.5" TC flange and L6-30 prongs built in, so it's really easy to remove them from the...

Just finished my dual-element electric BIAB setup

I just wanted to give some ideas to anyone looking to do an eBIAB setup. I just need a hose for water supply and a hose for a drain from my CFC, and I am ready to brew. I proofed the electronics tonight - everything is working. Is there a better way to waterproof the locking L6-30R connectors...

Show Me Your Wood Brew Sculpture/Rig

I'm liking the spar urethane idea, and then I can just use a 12"x12" silicone mat under the kettle to help protect the surface from direct heat.

Show Me Your Wood Brew Sculpture/Rig

How have you guys treated the plywood tops of your stands to keep spillovers from staining and soaking into the wood? And do you also coat it to protect it from the heat of the kettle?
