    Beer turned milky brown?

Alright. I've had an amber ale in the kegerator for some time now. It was previously somewhat hazy, but clearly an amber beer. I stopped drinking it for a couple of weeks, just poured myself one, and now its a light, milky brown. Still smells fine. I'm letting it sit for a minute to see if it...

    Next brew recommendation

I'm currently drinking a Brown Ale off the keg. Maybe half the keg is left (maybe less I've been getting into it) Later this week, my Irish Red will be carbed and I'll be drinking that. I just brewed BM's centennial blonde. Does HBT have any recommendations for the next beer? I'd like...

    Quick disconncects are loose?

First time kegger here. When pouring my beer (from a picnic tap) it flows very slowly. However, if I put some weight on top of the disconnect, it flows beautifully. I have new poppets, the disconnects are new. What could be the problem?

    Flare vs. Barbed fittings?

What are the pros and cons of having flared or barbed fittings within the kegging system? It seems to me that flared systems would make it easier to disconnect/connect the lines, but what's the downside? Price?

    Will this regulator work?

I'm putting together my kegerator, and came across this regulator on ebay. I will be running 2 kegs of one tank, and would like to run different pressures on the kegs, for carbing as well as having different pressures depending on the beer. clicky here It doesn't have any shutoffs, is that...

    Ale Pail Dimensions?

I've searched but haven't come up with anything exact... Can anyone measure their Ale Pail for me at it's widest? I'm trying to figure out the best layout for my new fermentation chamber. EDIT: If you could measure the height with the lid on too it would be much appreciated.

Analog or Digital temperture control for freezer?

Just picked up a 5.5 cu. ft. chest freezer off craigslist for $20. Only 5 blocks away too :rockin: Anywho, I'm going to use it as a fermentation chest, and am looking at the temperature controls. Is there any huge benefit to the digital vs. analog ones? I imagine the digital ones would allow...

    Brewer's Sugar for priming?

I have a bag of brewer's sugar, and underneath it it says (dextrose/invert/corn sugar). Can I use this for priming? If so, ~3/4 a cup for 5 gallons?

    Blueberry wheat fermentation schedule

I'm currently making a blueberry wheat beer for the girlfriend (I'm in denial that SMBO). It is in it's second day in the primary. Now, from what I gather, wheat beers are best enjoyed "green." It will need a secondary and tertiary fermentation though, to add the blueberries then let the gunk...

    Cooper's "Lager" = Steam Beer?

Seeing as the Cooper's Lager kits do not direct that you control your temperature to lagering temps, would that then classify it as a "steam beer," also called a "california common?" Something that I've been pondering.

    24 qt brewpot big enough?

That's a 6 gallon brewpot. I'm sticking with stovetop extract brewing and anticipate brewing like this for quite a while. Is that going to be large enough for my 5 gallon brew sizes? Any particular reason why this would not be big enough?

    Wheat beer question-

It seems as if the general consensus on wheat beer is to bottle directly from primary. It also seems as if fruit beer benefits from a secondary and even a tertiary fermentation. So whats the deal with fruited wheat beers then? It seems to me as if the best middle ground would be to fruit...

    My second batch tips...

The first batch of beer from my Cooper's Kit is currently in the bottle stage. Now I'm ready to start another. For my second batch, I plan on using another can kit, but tweaking it a little bit to make it more flavorful. I also plan on purchasing a secondary fermenter for this batch. I don't...

    New guy from SoCal

Hey all - I've been lurking for a bit here. Working on my first homebrew - I ordered myself a Cooper's Beer Kit for my birthday present to myself. The "Lager" (it comes with ale yeast) kit that comes with it is in the fermenter right now. I figure every time I brew another batch, I'll do...
