    thats a 10 gallon batch you got going on. You should run it threw the beer software to see what the OG is.

    I have heard the term yeast cake but in my 7 brews i have yet to see one. Is this just a term or can a cake of yeast be retreived from a previous batch of beer. I am an novice please any information will greatly appreciated. thanks sims_l22

    yeast

    has anyone used a propagator smack pack without a starter. I usually use the activator but they sent me the wrong one. I know it might sound strange but i do not have a flask or stir plate. I figure the worst that could happen is some lag time. sims_l22

    Weird infection? Some one help, please!

    i had the same problem 3 weeks ago. 1 case was perfectly carbonated and the second case was flat. Some said this was impossible, loose caps, etc. I say the priming sugar did not mix well. Let it swirl in with the wort then stir to be sure. sims_l22

    i thought that too and so i shaken a couple to see if they would leak and they did not. I do use an antique capper but it has worked in the pass maybe its time for a new one. sims_l22
