    Chinese Beers

Tsingtao is the only chinese beer i've drunk - It's not worth searching out in the West by any means but it wasn't as bad as I'd thought it would taste. Still 'odd' but I couldn't put my finger on why it was.

    Wine vs Beer

Go for the better quality wine kits - they have more grape juice, require no sugar to be added and only need to be topped up minimal water. Much better tasting than the cheaper versions. They cost more but are worth it.

I've only one beer to add at the moment to the list - Tripel Karmeliet. Best Belgian I've remembered in a while.

Who's had an infection? A show of hands.

None yet. I'm expecting to get caught out at some point of course.

My AG Gear has arrived today! 18.5 US Gallon S/S Mash/Sparge Pot fitted with a Blichmann BrewMometer and tap, Standard picnic cooler and a 13 US Gallon S/S Boiling pot with hop strainer and tap. I just need to get an extra propane bottle and choose what recipe to try first! I haven't had...

    Carrot wine.

Carrot wine needs a fair amount of aging from what I've read. My 1 UK Gal batch of 'Quelle horreur' is still clearing. Thanks for the reminder - I need to rack/bottle a load of wine to clear some space for the summer! :)

    My Beer line up

I'd add a bottle of Hopback's 'Summer Lightning' and a Bateman's 'Victory ale' to your list if you can get them.

    normal?

In the blue tub? It can get a little 'aged' and 'slow to ferment' if you've had an open tub a while.

    normal?

Looks like it's slowly starting to me. What wine yeast did you use?

    Love my new immersion chiller

Mine took 10 min today to cool a 3 gallon boil. They work great if you monitor the 'outflow' for heat. If it's cold it's not working - gently moving the immersion chiller sideways to another area of the pot can help with getting heat out.

    non alcoholic beer

You pee because your bladder is full, you feel dehydrated next day as non alcohol beer is still full of sugar I'd guess....

    Twist to Edworts Apfelwein

Don't add heat to apple juice - it can set pectin as described and it certainly doesn't help with flavours. Follow Yooper Chick's advise and chop and mash the chinese apple pears and use them in primary.
