First time brewing this beer, just tapped the keg. Thanks Yooper for an awesome beer! Mine came out to about 6.5%, couldn't be happier. Will definitely be brewing this again. I added my dry hops on day 4, left it in for about 7 days. Cold crashed for a couple days, tapped it on day 14.

We just started kegging kombucha. I got tired of bottling/carbing individual bottles. Perfect use for my 3 gallon kegs just gathering dust! I have a regulator just for the kombucha, I did the 36 hr at 30, then 10 psi. Like others said a bit too foamy. I'll try lowering to 5 on my next batch...

Great article! One question, when you used the Jaded Hydra, did you stir the hot water or agitate it in any way?

I brewed this recently and everyone enjoyed it! Compared to the real thing, its pretty darn close in my opinion. Thanks for a great recipe, this will definitely be added to my round up! Forgot to add that I stuck to the original recipe, but with no dry hop additions

jgln: I prefer not to use the grass skirts, they catch on fire. A loincloth is much better. capitalasspig: Glad your beers came out great! I have never filtered any of my beers yet, so far I have been pleased with using gelatin to help clear out the beer

Update: Ok, 4 days later I took another gravity reading and it is still at 1.030. It's safe to say that it is not the yeast's fault. I am thinking maybe my thermometer is innacurate. This batch called for a mash at 156 degrees. Maybe I was higher and created too much unfermentable sugars?

I'll chime in with my Notty report. Brewed a batch of Hobgoblin clone, had activity in about 24 hours. The Kraussen lasted about 2 days then slowly disappeared. I probably had activity for about 4 days max. After a week I took a gravity reading. 1.030!! I started at 1.052. Luckily I have...

Or you can make a six gallon batch and bring half to a party and still have half sitting at home :)

Good Job! I also scored my second 4912 for $50. My first one I got for $80. My wife was only mad for about 10 minutes, seeing how cheap it was how could I refuse?

I guess its relative to you're ambient temperature. Here in Hawaii I have mine set at 5 and it is around 38 degrees. It seems like the compressor is on more than it is off. Theres no way my Sanyo will hit near-freezing temps.
